My dad reared many dogs while growing up and I never interacted with them. My sister Toluwase Adedoja would feed these dogs and even encourage me to feed them. You bet I won't. So you can tell that reading the word dogfooding threw me off but my curious nature could not hold me back. Voila! I learned something new. Wondering what dogfooding is? Keep reading! Dogfooding is a term from a commercial and was first used in the software context by a Microsoft manager in 1988. Dogfooding is a playful term that refers to the practice of a company using its own products or services internally before releasing them to the public. In short, it means using your own product regularly. Dogfooding serves several purposes in product management such as Quality Control (Allowing the team to identify bugs and areas of improvement before Launch). It also serves as a feedback loop, where employees using the product can provide valuable feedback based on their real-world experiences, helping the team iterate and refine the product. It's not just about testing and iterating, but experiencing your product as your users do. If employees are enthusiastic users of the product, they can become advocates when promoting it externally. Those easy things simply make me truly happy. I spend my life in a quiet area in the mountains of Portugal, taking care of my small farm, my family, and my beloved dogs and cats. At this point in my life, I am genuinely content to embrace and enjoy the beauty that my country has to offer. 🐶🐱 Due to that, the possibility to work fully remotely that Starfish offers is vital for me, allowing me to stay in my peaceful corner and on my little piece of land without having to go anywhere.
