We are passionate about giving every child a safe, happy, and nurturing environment. Unfortunately, child labor, especially in its worst forms, steals away childhood, education, and future dreams. This serious issue needs all of us to come together and take action. This is why, from July 11 to 12 in Koronadal City and July 15 to 20 in Cebu City, we held awesome capacity-building workshops through our anti-child labor project #ProjectSPEAK. These sessions were all about empowering DOLE’s national and regional staff with skills in video advocacy, storytelling, and cinematography. With these creative tools, we’re crafting powerful IEC materials that really connect with people and inspire action against child labor. Through this initiative, we’re teaming up with local governments, agencies, and the private sector to fight child labor head-on. Together, we’re working to make sure every child can grow up free from exploitation and harm. Our goal? To use the magic of visual media to touch hearts and move communities and policymakers to protect kids’ rights. This is more than just spreading awareness—it’s about making real, positive changes. By highlighting these important issues, we’re paving the way for a future where every child can grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe. 🌟✨ #ChildFundPH #EndChildLabor #ProjectSPEAK #ChildRights

This Child Protection Week, we're focusing on a critical aspect of our work at OzChild: ensuring children and young people are active participants in decisions that shape their lives. Too often, children and young people feel left out, asking, “Why wasn’t I consulted?” or “Why didn’t I get a say?” We believe direct involvement and meaningful participation is key to truly empowering young people. At OzChild, we’ve taken concrete steps to change this by dedicating resources to amplify the voices of children and young people. Our Child and Young Person Engagement Advisor plays a pivotal role in educating and equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to actively participate in decision-making, and giving them opportunities to do so. This is about more than just offering them a seat at the table—it’s about ensuring they feel prepared and empowered to use it. We are already seeing the positive impact of this approach as it reshapes our service delivery. Let’s all continue to champion the voices of children and young people—because every conversation matters in shaping a better future and service system for children, young people and families.
