Children's Media Association’s Post

At minimal, animation is entertainment. But at it's best, animation offers us the ability to communicate, to enhance our imaginations, and allow us to feel. And all ages are invited to experience the magic within the pixels. In this event entitled, "Animation & Emotions" CMA will discuss the force that is animation and it's lasting effect on our emotions with the team behind Pixar's "Inside Out 2." Joining us is Meg LeFauve, Academy Award nominee for her co-writing on "Inside Out" and also co-writer for "Inside Out 2," fellow co-writer Dave Holstein, Dr. Lisa Damour, best-selling author and mental health consultant for "Inside Out 2" and Dr. Dacher Keltner, one of the world's foremost emotion scientists and scientific advisor behind both "Inside Out" and "Inside Out 2." Join us as we discuss how colorful characters and evoking storylines have the strangest power to make FEEL!

I grew up on cartoons😃😃That’s how I got introduced to animation at a very early age. I grew up on the original Disney cartoons, animated movies as well as the Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera cartoons. They defined my childhood. My brother Rakesh Iyer and I recently saw the second Inside Out and we thought it was awesome. We also heard that a fifth Shrek movie is on its way. We can hardly wait to see it🤩🤩

Our whole family LOVED Inside Out 1 and 2. Our 16-year-old said it best: The first film was everything I felt when I was younger yet didn't really understand, but the second film was me and all that I feel each day! We were all so moved by the films—kudos to the entire team! Can't wait for this panel!

I cannot wait to hear about younglings today who experienced the first and second movie young relizing and understanding it better when they are older and talk about their perception of it over time

Inside Out 2 really out did itself!!!! I was scared I might not like it as much as the 1st one but the 2nd was even better!!!! The visual depictions and scripting is genius!

As professionals who may not have known each other earlier, what helps you build your collaborative approaches and creating the flow of creative construction to translate and bridge these different perceptions and concepts?

I understand there were 8 emotions that were eliminated from IO 2....is that accurate info?
