These are the creative ways our team works to help children and teens, address fear, anxiety, and other emotions. These emotions are mirrored during grief and loss of a loved one. Learning how to regulate and express yourself during stressful times, helps give children and teens some healthy tools when deep emotions emerge in the waves of grief and loss.
A few weeks ago our brave kiddos in the Children & Youth Grief Support Program learned to face their fears in a fun, safe, and supportive way! 💪💚 . From slithery snakes to cool lizards, this special event helps kids find courage and build confidence, and stood as a reminder that we can have courage even when we may be scared.✨ . *Pictured here are some of our incredible staff and volunteers* . . . #GriefSupport #FearFactorFun #CourageBuilding #KidsGriefJourney #BraveHearts #AbbotsfordHospiceandGriefSupportSociety #Abbyhospice #AHGSS #AbbotsfordHospiceSociety #childrenandyouthgriefsupport #community #nonprofit #hospicecare #hospice #griefsupport #adultgriefsupport #freesupport #supportingourcommunity #endoflifecare #palliativecare #abbotsford #abbycares #abbotsfordbc #griefandloss #grieving #grief #griefjourney #remembering #childrensgriefsupport #abbotsfordevents #fraservalleyevents

We are all striving for sainthood, but sometimes it can be difficult to think of practical things we can do to live out holiness in our daily lives. First Witnesses, an Institute for Catholic Formation initiative, wants to help you do just that. Here are 7 ways to become a saint from First Witnesses: - Create a list of reasons you are grateful - Write a kind note to someone in your family. - Donate books and toys to charity - Go all day without electronics and offer the sacrifice for those who are ill. - Reuse paper to write and draw on - Pray for someone in need As Bishop Caggiano says, “Becoming a saint is made one choice at a time." Let's make those choices and strive for sainthood each and every day! For more resources like this from the Institute for Catholic Formation, check out https://lnkd.in/guudTErz. #catholicsaints #strivingforholiness #bishopcaggiano

This hadith emphasizes the importance of leaving behind a legacy that continues to benefit others even after one's death. The three exceptions mentioned are: Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity): This refers to any form of charity that continues to benefit people over time, such as building a well, funding an institution, or supporting an orphanage. Beneficial knowledge: This includes knowledge that one has imparted to others that continues to be used and spread, such as teaching, writing books, or any other form of disseminating knowledge. A righteous child who prays for him: The supplications of a pious offspring can continue to benefit the deceased. These three forms of ongoing good deeds can provide continuous reward to a person even after they have passed away.
