What would be a more impactful recognition of the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to the land known today as Australia. Perhaps this? “In acknowledgment that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the original and enduring custodians of the land known today as Australia, with a connection that has persisted since the beginning of Creation: 1. These peoples have always been, and continue to be, an integral part of this land, guided by their ancestral voice, story, custom, and ceremony from the Dreaming. 2. Their Original Law, as the ancestral principles, customs, practices, and societal guidelines, deeply rooted in this land, remains unbroken and coexists with the legal systems introduced later. 3. An established body, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, shall be entrusted with the responsibility of representing their interests, beliefs, and rights. 4. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice will actively engage in dialogues with the Parliament and the Executive Government of the Commonwealth, addressing matters of significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 5. The structure, functions, powers, and procedures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice shall be determined solely by those who are descendants and successors of the Original Law, ensuring their traditions, rights, and voices are upheld and respected. 6. This recognition is founded on fostering mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration between the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all other Australians, paving the way for a harmonious future that acknowledges and integrates both bodies of law.” Interested to know your thoughts…

Today, as our nation commemorates Indigenous Peoples Day, it is crucial that we acknowledge and embrace the truth about our shared history. While Columbus Day has been celebrated for centuries, it is essential to recognize that Christopher Columbus was not the first to discover America. Indigenous peoples were already flourishing across the vast lands, nurturing diverse cultures, and establishing thriving civilizations long before the arrival of European explorers. In the spirit of truth and unity, let us affirm the significance of Indigenous Peoples Day. By doing so, we honor the rich heritage, resilience, and contributions of the original inhabitants of this land. Today, we would like to share a personal connection to this powerful day, as our Chief Apostle Dr. Eloisa Crawley-Bonaparte and our 2nd Presiding Prelate Dr. A.Louise Bonaparte, carries the proud lineage of three tribes of Native Americans: Cherokee, Shinnecock, and Mohawk. This heritage flows through their veins, a testament to the enduring legacy of Indigenous peoples. By celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day, we reject the fallacy that America was an empty canvas awaiting discovery. Instead, we acknowledge the profound civilizations that thrived across this continent for thousands of years. Our collective journey toward understanding and appreciating indigenous cultures serves as a stepping stone towards a more inclusive and compassionate society. Let us remember that embracing the truth about our shared history does not diminish the accomplishments and contributions of other cultures and individuals. It is not an attempt to rewrite the past, but rather an opportunity to rectify historical inaccuracies and foster a deeper understanding of the diverse tapestry that makes up our nation. By acknowledging the truth, we can pave the way for authentic healing and reconciliation. It is through this process that we can move forward as a united community, embracing the values of respect, empathy, and mutual understanding. Our commitment to honoring Indigenous Peoples Day is a testament to our dedication to justice and equality for all. Together, let us embark on this journey of truth, understanding, and unity. By celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day, we not only honor the past but also pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future. In solidarity, Admin. Post

Question: Do you know who Australia’s Head of State is? Answer: King Charles III We had some fun on ‘The Jury’ on Sky News Australia this week talking about Australia’s Head of State and Australian Republic. Only trouble was, we ran into a major hurdle - head of the monarchists, Eric Abetz tried to pretend that King Charles is not Australia’s Head of State! Even producing the appropriate clause in the Constitution wasn’t enough. Truthfully, it wasn’t a suprise. Attempts to avoid conversation about the monarchy’s suitability to represent contemporary Australia are understandable, since over 75% of Australians believe that Charles does not represent us, or our culture. Nonetheless, as I pointed out on the show, our intention is not to demonise Charles, or Australians who love the monarchy. Quite the opposite. We want to be honest but respectful of our history and all those who have contributed. We’re all Australians and can all work together to find the right path to our full independence as a country and will continue to let all Aussies know, we respect you and your views. Yes, including Eric. It’s less about Charles, and all about us. In future though, perhaps we can ground the conversation in reality, and stick to the book called the Australian Constitution?

We're thrilled to share that our latest Dual Narrative Tour, set in Northern Ireland, is ready for take-off for 2024 dates. Northern Ireland’s deep history of conflict is still an active act of reconciliation. This tour provides travelers with a unique Dual Narrative perspective, seen from both sides of the conflict, with Catholic and Protestant tour guides sharing their community's stories and their own personal histories. Mejdi Tours co-founder Aziz Abu Sarah says it best - "What we’ve seen is that the Dual Narrative is so powerful because it gives you the opportunity to not only hear different opinions, but also to understand the people you meet, to understand their fear and their anger, and to really fall in love with the place you’re visiting." With much of the world seemingly in continuous conflict, this type of #sociallyconscioustravel - where the focus is on the human element of destinations; the diversity of its people, their stories and narratives - needs to not just stand out as an outlier, but become the norm. #traveltrade #travelandtourism #responsibletravel Learn more about the tour ⤵
