In January we were able to help and support 1,050 individuals who came to use our free food section to support their own families, and over the course of the last 12 months we have been able to give away the equivalent of 168,968 meals worth of food. These numbers show us 3 things; 1) There is still a huge need within our City to support the most financially vulnerable. 2) The cost of living crisis is showing no signs of slowing, putting more families in a vulnerable position. 3) By utilising the free food we give away, we are able to keep families from requiring an emergency food parcel to survive. However, we cannot do this alone, your support is vital now more than ever and there a few ways you can help us in our quest to keep families from drowning. 1) Have a food donation/drop off point in your place of work. 2) Pleadge a small amount as a standing order to us (could be as little as £1). 3) Have your place of work use their CSR to support our work and set up a corporate standing order. 4) Just continue to share, comment, and like our posts so we can continue to reach out to those that need us and may not know we exist. We need you in the same way our community needs us.

With the cost-of-living hitting even average families, the children in low income families are really missing out. Single mothers are doing all they can to protect their children, but the kids still feel the hunger and the cold – and the responsibility to try and hid expenses from their mum. CSMC provides expert specialist support, with the unique addition of having lived experience of being single mothers. They are trusted; they are experts; they are a safe place for single mothers to turn. Funds are urgently needed for emergency relief to assist single mothers to feed their children and maintain their housing. To most of us, a bed is something that we cozy into each night... for the families that we are serving, this is something that they cannot even imagine, that they would be able to get off the floor and into a bed. Beds are one of the most critical items we provide, bringing comfort, security, and dignity to families emerging from crisis. Right now, we have a backlog of families who desperately need beds—a place for their children to sleep safely and comfortably. If you were to visit our warehouse today, you’d see rows of beds, but here’s the reality: every single one of them is already spoken for. We're grateful for the generous donations we receive, but the need far outweighs what we currently have. For every one bed we give, we get a request for 3 more... and we’re struggling to meet that demand. 🌟 Why are we sharing this with you? 🌟 Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping us fill in the gaps—ensuring that when we’re short on key items, we can purchase them to meet a family’s immediate needs. ➖Some weeks, we may have plenty of mattresses but no bed frames. ➖Other weeks, we may have an abundance of sofas but not enough dressers. ➖One week, we could have 10 dining tables but zero chairs to go with them. How does Gift Aid work?  💰 Gift Aid allows charities to claim an additional 25% back from the government whenever you donate.  💰This means that for every £1 you donate MHA get an extra £25p and it's no cost to you! What do you need to do? 💰 Just say yes to Gift Aid when asked and fill in some details - that's it! 💰 For bonus points - if you're fundraising for us, remember to remind your friends and family how important Gift Aid is.
