Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA)’s Post

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Alan S. Wayne, Pediatrician-in-Chief and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, for moderating a pivotal panel at this week’s #Access4Kids think tank. This important event brought together physician-scientists and thought leaders from around the country. The goal: to transform the landscape of pediatric healthcare by overcoming the high costs, regulatory challenges, and reimbursement hurdles that prevent groundbreaking therapies for life-limiting pediatric cancers and rare diseases from reaching the patients who need them most. The discussions, hosted by Drs. Catherine Bollard of Children’s National Hospital, Crystal Mackall of the Stanford Center for Cancer Cell Therapy, Julie R. Park of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and our very own Dr. Alan Wayne, were truly thought-provoking and aimed at closing the so-called “Valley of Death” for pharmaceuticals. Join us in acknowledging the efforts of these dedicated leaders in ensuring that the wave of novel therapies under development reaches all patients in need. Together, we are making strides towards a future where all children have access to life-saving treatments. #CellTherapy #GeneTherapy #CGT #RareDisease #PediatricCancer

It will truly take a village to solve this! Great event!
