AEEE successfully conducted a Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on ‘Building a Greener Shillong: Stakeholders Unite for Low-carbon Construction Practices’ in Shillong, Meghalaya, on 19 September 2024. This workshop brought together architects, contractors, developers, and material suppliers to discuss the importance of adopting low-carbon alternatives in the construction sector. The workshop explored the challenges and opportunities of integrating low-carbon practices into Shillong’s construction landscape. Additionally, it addressed the broader need for capacity-building among stakeholders and the public to enable the wider adoption of sustainable practices. The workshop concluded with a call for industry-wide collaboration, innovation, and a reassessment of the current approach to construction in the city.
