Granisetron primarily functions as a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, exerting its antiemetic effects by blocking the action of serotonin at these receptors. By antagonizing the 5-HT3 receptors, granisetron inhibits serotonin-mediated signaling that contributes to nausea and vomiting. Sharing an optimized HPLC method using NanoPak-C All-Carbon reverse phase media to separate and purify semaglutide and liraglutide, important peptide drugs for treating type 2 diabetes and promoting weight loss. The method considers various factors including pH, mobile phase composition, flow rate, and temperature, and offers pH stability and unique selectivity for sustainable separation of peptides.
We have published a application note that briefly describes an optimized method for HPLC separation of Semaglutide and Liraglutide using NanoPak-C All-Carbon reverse phase media under acidic and alkaline conditions. These drugs (also known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogs) are used to treat type 2 diabetes and promote weight loss by triggering insulin production. Separation and purification of these peptide drugs are crucial to meet quality requirements, and the process requires careful consideration of factors such as column media selection, mobile phase pH and composition, flow rate, temperature, and gradient elution techniques.
