Why is that when someone does give away, we bask in the whole euphoria of the person's benevolence. We celebrate the person as being a "good person". We discuss his or her kindness. But why is it we hardly discuss what is funding that kindness or how that kindness is being paid for? This is a honest interrogation. Today, we are celebrating Air Peace for slashing down the air fares and giving it at a far lower rates. That's a good thing, don't quote me wrongly. We are all celebrating their "kindness". But why is nobody talking about the cost of funding this kindness that the company has to go through? If I announce a giveaway of N500,000 now. Even people I have never met will praise me. I have seen people singing the praises of people who come online to give out money or other things. But we hardly discuss the price for doing good. Why?
It is motivational speakers that came up with "people are interested in RESULT, not the work/effort you put in". It's just an extension of human reality. We celebrate what we see. In this case, we see GIVEAWAYS😂.
You're right sir... There's a price for doing good.. So perhaps we can recognize the sacrifices and costs and learn from such individuals rather than being completely engrossed in the 'gifts'.
Please sir can you be more explicit on the "price for doing good" as used in your passage?
Because as I was taught by my lecturers in University, every man is naturally self interested. We all fight for our self interests first before anything else. So it's only just natural for us to look on the brighter side of this thing and say we want more of these goodies to keep coming from those giving them & not bother ourselves with the fine details of the cost to the givers. In other news, shey you go still do that 500,000 naira giveaway abi na April Fool?

12moPeople are not ready to do the dirty job, learn how things work from first principle thinking. We just love the fans club better. Funny enough today when I saw some Nollywood actresses as Air Peace influencers traveling and enjoying, my friend and I where asking ourselves thesame question. How and who is finding this much kindness? Hard Work, years of building, grinding etc I guess🤔.Chinonso Ogbogu
