How many times have we heard this: the economic benefits will “substantially outweigh any environmental impact”? Not the case in Menie, Aberdeenshire, "a particularly beautiful and special patch of nature on the Scottish east coast" - also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) akin to the Amazon Rainforest - that was turned into "an 18-hole, 500-hectare, money haemorrhaging scar on the former natural beauty hotspot." "The idea that the area would be developed was unthinkable to many who had lived in the area their whole lives." Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eSwm3nvA
