We are thrilled to bring you an exciting and insightful episode of our podcast, "Beyond The Page." In our latest release, we had the privilege of interviewing the brilliant Anthony Jack, who delves into the fascinating intersection of neuroscience and coaching. Here's a sneak peek at the thought-provoking questions we asked Anthony in this enlightening episode: 1️⃣ 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘷𝘴. 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵: 𝘜𝘯𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 In his captivating article, Anthony Jack discusses how neuroscience unveils the distinction between analytic and empathic modes of thought. You might be familiar with the concepts of thinking fast and slow, or automatic vs. deliberative thinking, but are they synonymous with analytic vs. empathic? Anthony breaks it down for us, revealing how these concepts map onto each other and the profound implications for coaching. 2️⃣ 𝘜𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘥: 𝘊𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 We explore the question on many minds: Why haven't we heard more about Cognitive Network Neuroscience and its role in distinguishing between analytic and empathic thinking? Anthony shares insights into the obstacles that neuroscience faces when it comes to addressing practical applications, especially in the realm of coaching. 3️⃣ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘕𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘕𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 Discover the single most important takeaway for coaches from the latest neuroscience. I listened to a podcast today with Steven Bartlett and Ben Williams on "How to fearlessly pursue your dreams" and it got me thinking about fear. When we think about what holds us back and our fears, every single person will have a different scale. One persons fear might feel huge to them, but to someone else feel small. I considered that with the coaching lens. For some people, even reaching out and finding out more about coaching may have caused some level of fear. What if I look silly? What if I can't "be coached"? What if I am judged for what I bring to a session? I feel passionately that as a Coach, wherever someones fear sits, I will listen and be completely non-judgmental. I want to create a safe space for my clients where they can not feel "silly", see that they can work with a coach and not be judged for whatever they say in a session. In 2024, I want to continue working alongside people to unlock their potential and find goals that will continue to push them forward in whatever direction they desire. If you are looking for Coaching, please reach out for a free introduction session to discuss how I may be able to help you.

George Warren describes “growth through discomfort” as a key theme in his life and in this episode of The Coach's Journey Podcast, he lays down a challenge to the #coaching industry to step out of its comfort zone and explore questions that might challenge the very foundations of our work. While many of us place the principles of being client-led and non-directive at the centre of our practice, George views coaching through a lens of universal interconnectedness where there is always more than one voice to consider. Drawing upon #Gestalt psychology, Eastern mysticism and his experiences as a solo traveller in the Middle East, George’s work highlights the unique role coaching can play in finding answers to some of society’s most pressing questions, from global conflicts to the loneliness epidemic. In this conversation with host Neil Mackinnon, George describes how his innate emotional sensitivity became a “nuclear reactor”, fuelling him along a path from the world of luxury travel sales to the cultivation of a deeper connection with the environment through coaching. In this episode, George and Neil also talk about: - The complimentary tools of support and challenge - Why George believes #coaches do not need a niche - How supervision can become “an amphitheatre of profound learning” - The “beautiful gift” of ignorance when working with new clients George ends this episode by placing coaching at a fascinating crossroads, describing contrasting futures that might lie ahead depending on the choices we all make in the coming years. https://lnkd.in/e4cHc4qe

Musing on this today. « The best negotiators didn’t battle over who should get the biggest slice of the pie. Rather, they focused on making the pie itself larger, finding win-win solutions where everyone walked away happier than before. » Charles Duhigg - #Supercommunicators I do love a great book that makes me think and question. The Sticky Guy - Championing Retention, Human Leadership & Culture Change Support - Making Businesses Stickier From The Inside
Pinocchio had one, why can't you? What would it be like if you had your own Jiminy Cricket sat on your shoulder, offering you advice, or encouragement at just the right moment, each day? An ever-present, personal coach if you will. It'd be great, wouldn't it? Coaching is something that has traditionally been reserved for "the higher ups", or the favoured few. Not so know. There are coaches everywhere, but that doesn't mean the associated benefits are afforded to everyone, or affordable for businesses to make it available to everyone. But things are changing. Technology, science and art are combining to bring the power and benefits of personalised, contexualised coaching at scale. I spoke to James Lawrence, CEO and co-founder of Happy Companies about what they are doing to purposefully bring some of the benefits of personal coaching and help many more people understand and communicate with their colleagues more effectively and integrate the necessary support and nudges that a great coach would give you, into existing workplace tools like Slack and Teams. On the latest episode of Sticky From The Inside, James shares his experiences of being brought up by two psychologist parents, dropping out of College, failing at business and leadership and then benefitting from a coaching experience that changed his life and direction, and has led to his quest to bring the benefits of coaching to many more people, affordably. You can listen to James' story by searching for Sticky From The Inside wherever you get your podcasts. #coaching #ai #podcast
