Behind the scenes of the latest Roambee Supply Chain Tech podcast episode with Gabriela Herrera Piguin, Supply Chain coordinator at Braskem. I'm so happy I got the chance to bring Gabriela onto the podcast; it has been quite a while since we've had someone from the chemical industry come onto the podcast. I was really amazed to learn about the number of innovative technologies that Gabriela had integrated into her supply chain at Braskem. It gave me a fresh perspective on the chemical industry as a real driver of innovation in supply chain, which is not an industry I would have expected to be right at the forefront. One theme I noticed within the episode was that while there was an appreciation for the benefits technology provides, there was a belief human intervention can still not be replaced at this moment. Here are some of my key takeaways from our conversation: ✅ Value of Data Lakes - Centralising data into a data lake enhances visibility across the supply chain, allowing teams to quickly access and analyse information, though it does not inherently solve issues without human intervention. ✅ Navigating Resistance to New Technology - Successfully transitioning teams to new data practices necessitates addressing fears of job loss and demonstrating how technology can enhance efficiency and reduce routine tasks. ✅ Data-Driven Decision Making - Utilising integrated data analytics allows companies to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the supply chain, enabling informed decisions that can enhance overall performance. ✅ Cross-Cultural Collaboration - The importance of fostering collaboration across diverse teams and cultures within the supply chain is essential for innovation and overcoming logistical challenges in a globalised market. We had a good conversation and a good laugh over Brazilian barbecue food, or as they say in Brazil, “churrasco”. Excited for you to hear this one.
In the new episode of The Supply Chain Technology Podcast, we're joined by Gabriela Herrera Piguin, Supply Chain Coordinator at Braskem. Gabriela discusses how AI helps reduce cognitive overload, optimize costs, and streamline operations without sacrificing service quality. She also explains the importance of data lakes and real-time software in giving businesses a competitive edge in decision-making. If you’re curious about the tech side of supply chains, this episode has all the insights you need. Tune in to this exciting conversation on our podcast page or choose from your preferred podcast platform, including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Google, Anchor, iHeartRadio and Castbox. FM leaders, here are 3 signs your existing O&M technology stack needs an update... The demand for better reliability, sustainability, and occupant experience among other customer outcomes is propelling the shift to data-led operations and maintenance of built assets and facilities. In this shift, your tech stack should be a powerful enabler, but here's how it might be letting you down: 1️⃣ It only allows planned or reactive maintenance instead of data-driven insights to lead your maintenance strategy. 2️⃣ It's not built for enabling decisions, does not foster collaboration, or provide assistance that helps the entire team. 3️⃣ It requires too much time, effort, and supervision from the engineering team to run the process, increasing knowledge risks and operational costs. Unpack more insights on O&M tech stack transformation in this episode of the Forever Forward podcast powered by Xempla. 🎧 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gnN4SAKN 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/guy3ikqt #FacilitiesManagement #Maintenance #AssetPerformanceManagement #Technology #DigitalTransformation

Pilot podcast announcement! Over the Fall, Eric Morrow and I workshopped a hypothesis: while it is clearer what AIs can do, it’s still not at all clear exactly how people are bringing it into their work and products, and there's an opportunity to articulate the design strategies at play: What happens next after someone asks: “can we use AI for this?” What business problems are people solving? How are they getting support from leadership? What revenue models are being tested? What users are being talked to? We started Behind the Ask to dig into these questions, and our friends and family pilot season is up now! One thing that stood out to me in our small data set is that people spoke to the technology AND their philosophy of working with AIs at this moment of adoption.
