I have completed a tremendous online session on "Chemical Management Systems (CMS)", which is mainly based on #ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) and #giz (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) standards. The main theme of this training on chemical management is to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of various chemicals in industrial settings. The session focuses on understanding chemical properties, regulatory compliance, inventory management, risk assessment, emergency response, training and education, waste management, labeling and signage, monitoring and reporting, documentation, integration with other systems, and continuous improvement. The overarching goal is to promote workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and legal compliance in the management of chemicals. Especially thanks to "Green Leaf" for arranging this valuable session.

Chemical data gives your team a foundation for health & safety, environmental reporting, and more, but it isn’t always easy to come by. You need to know that the data you rely on is both complete and accurate, but how? Even basic chemical properties can sometimes be difficult to track down, and it only becomes more challenging from there. Workplace safety, transportation, and other activities require complete insight into GHS and CLP chemical hazard classification. Your team must also ensure that they know which chemicals are reportable under which regulations, with thresholds and chemical lists constantly changing. This challenge can’t be overcome without a dedicated team of environmental scientists and regulatory experts. Luckily, ERA has already set our team to that task and developed ERA’s Master Chemical List (MCL). This constantly updated resource provides ERA clients with comprehensive data on over 216,000 chemicals. 🗓On May 30, 2024, the 🇵🇭Philippine Environmental Management Bureau under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (#DENR-EMB) released drafts on updating the Philippine #Inventory of #Chemicals and Chemical #Substances (#PICCS) for the year 2024. 🧐The list shall include 71 new chemicals in the Philippines in 2024 through the Pre-Manufacture Pre-Importation Notification (#PMPIN).
