Hi Network! So as you may or may not know, I coach American Football for the Great Britain National Team! British American Football Association We have a home game in October against Germany, and it requires a great deal of funds. Around £15,000 as a baseline. So the team has set up a kickstarter to help alleviate some of these costs for the players and to help fund the game. We must reach £7,500 otherwise we lose all the money. Any donation large or small would be incredibly helpful. Not only would it be helpful, but because it’s a kickstarter, you get things in return depending on how much you donate. Each player is aiming to raise at least £70 each, so anything that helps me towards that total is appreciated. Here is the link to donate, if you need help, or have any questions, let me know: https://lnkd.in/ezQez89i

Despite the cost of living crisis hitting many households across the United Kingdom, charitable spirit has not decreased. In 2023, 14 billion was donated to charity which was a 1.2 billion increase from 2022 with around three quarters of people doing some sort of charitable work. In a year fraught with rising costs, this is commendable. However, not everyone has the time or means to volunteer. But did you know you can use your tax to help charities? This can come in the form of gift aid. This is a tax incentive that gives a top up on donations from UK taxpayers to a UK registered charity or community amateur sports clubs. Essentially, if you donate £10, the government will top this up by 25% resulting in a donation of £12.50. You can then claim back up to 20-25% on your donations. Can awareness of tax incentives encourage more people to donate? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

🙋🏻♂️ Charitable donations can offer significant tax relief for individuals and businesses. Understanding these benefits can encourage more people to support charitable causes while also gaining financial advantages. 🎁 How Does Gift Aid Work? 👉 Gift Aid is a scheme allowing charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, effectively increasing the amount of the donation by 25%. 👉 To make a Gift Aid donation, you must have paid UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that all the charities and community amateur sports clubs claim on your donations in that tax year. 🧩 For example, if you donate £100, the charity can claim an extra £25, making your donation £125. #taxrelief #charitabledonations #uktaxpayers #giftaid

Do you regularly give money to charity? If you are director of a limited company and your company donates to charity or community amateur sports club (CASC), these donations are deducted from business profits before corporation tax is paid, meaning your corporation tax bill is reduced. There are some payments which don't qualify. They are: loans that will be repaid by the charity made on the condition that the charity will buy property from your company or anyone connected with it a distribution of company profits (eg dividends) Any benefits you’re given in return for your donation (eg tickets to an event) must be below a certain value. This applies to benefits given to any person or company connected with your company, including close relatives. If you get a benefit that’s related to the company your donation qualifies as a sponsorship payment. Read more about this on the government website; link in comments. Do you make gift aid charitable donations and pay higher rates of tax? If so, it is worth remembering that any donations made before 5 April will see you receive the benefit much sooner than ones made just after. So if you have someone that you've been meaning to sponsor, if you do this before 5 April you will see a reduction in your tax bill in January 2025, whereas if you make this payment on 6 April you won't see the benefit until January 2026. https://buff.ly/2MRNGo0 #SelfAssessment #Donations

39 children lost their lives in drowning-related incidents last year. That is 39 too many. We know learning to swim saves lives, yet thousands of WA children miss out each year leaving them at risk of drowning. You can help stop this. Royal Life Saving WA is raising money for their Swim and Survive Fund, which helps provide swimming lessons to children who are missing out. If you're in a position to do so, you can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the Fund: https://lnkd.in/ddu9ncuR #swimandsurvivefund #swimandsurvive #lifesavingwa

When the wishes of the VOCAL minority take over the well being of the Majority - we end up with dictatorship. Watch what happened with Bangla Desh and what will happen to United Kingdom. Dictatorship in a 'civilized/ democratic country can be simple as two tier policing. The same happens in a business when we start catering for ALL minorities - we end up with a lower standard. The basic rule in business is survival of the fittest. The businesses are not there as a charity - although charities are a business - so if you are of a 'special group' then set up a business for that group and be a success: BUT don't expect ALL businesses to cater for you.
