Yes, I know I am Capybara Go pilled right now, but hear me out In the AAA space, we often talk about moving players from game to game. For example, every publisher is panicking waiting for GTA6 to launch and trying their hardest to not have their game release during (or hell even like 6 months after) GTA6. But, the hyper casual space doesn't care. Sure, play GTA6 and also have your Capybara autobattling so you can get that sweet dopamine hit every 2 minutes or so. Or roll that 100x dice in Monopoly Go. It won't hurt! This is the impact mobile has had on the AAA audience. Don't remove players from their main game, but give them some sense of progression when they are also trying to hit Grand Champ in Rocket League. My prediction: Games that are "played" while you are playing your main game are going to be massive. Currently, this is done via a second screen (mobile) while playing Console/PC....but what if those get combined? Not everyone knows about Bluestacks...there will be a game on PC/Console that is purely meant to exist while you are playing your main game. I guarantee it.
Me and the Cap Go had a solid run but the post Hero friction took me to "chore town," where I admit that the fun ritual is gone and I wait until the next in-between game pops up. I wish I had more community building mobile choices where the late-game optimization fed into group activities that I can ride for a bit longer.
That's nice observation Chris 👍🏼. Google play games will be available on PC soon, so players can enjoy same android game in Phone & PC.
How Bluestacks is differ from Google Play on PC?
That's actually true and a very interesting observation. I realize that I find myself looking at my phone every time during loading screens etc. I don't know why, but I do it very often and I think other people do it as well.
I quit Capybara Go after what I thought were going to be 10-minute sessions turned into 2-hour bingers. Similar to Monopoly Go, there are plenty of (mobile) games that express themselves as hyper casual when just below the surface they have whopping amounts of play.
