The latest edition of Texas811 magazine is out and this year is 40th anniversary of Texas811 formerly known as Dig Tess! I contributed an article in this edition "Are Class B Facilities The Missing Link in Damage Prevention?". The short answer is "yes", but this is an area where there has been a significant improvement which is a trend that will hopefully continue. Texas runs on water and protecting our underground water facilities matters. https://lnkd.in/gXaHWZtD #811 #water #txwater #txgas #txtelecomm #txelectricty #damageprevention

Interesting findings from ACA Connects' latest study on the BEAD Program Framework, conducted by Cartesian. It highlights a critical concern: 15 states, including Nebraska, Wyoming, Hawaii, and others, face significant challenges in achieving fiber coverage. As someone working at Cartesian, I see this not just as a report but as a call to action. These states represent diverse geographical and infrastructural challenges. In my experience, addressing such underfunding requires innovative approaches and collaborative efforts between private and public sectors. The study provides a baseline scenario, but let's think beyond. What are the alternative strategies these states could consider? How can we leverage technology and policy to bridge this gap more effectively? For those interested in diving deeper into this issue, the full study offers valuable insights. #fiber #broadband #broadbandforall #telecommunications #bead
According to our latest BEAD Program Framework study, 15 States are considered severely underfunded and are expected to have less than 50% of fiber coverage in the baseline fiber deployment scenario: Nebraska, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska, North Dakota, Kansas, South Dakota, Montana, Iowa, California, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho and Colorado. #OTD The "Oak" nuclear test was conducted by the United States on June 28, 1958, at Enewetak Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It was part of the Operation Hardtack I series. The Oak Shot, conducted on a barge, yielded nearly nine megatons, making it the 6th largest U.S. nuclear test. Watch the video here: https://loom.ly/6n-NKSE

Thanks to Daily Business Review and ALM for writing up the 2024 update to our report on nuclear #jury #verdicts! Check the comments below for info on how to download the report.
In 2023, seven states, including Florida, Iowa, Indiana, and Montana, took action to limit the size and scope of verdicts. "...[T]he key takeaway is these verdicts continue to grow and don’t seem to be going anywhere," said Phil Singer, CEO of Marathon Strategies LLC. "It underscores the need for companies to shore up legal vulnerabilities and shows that corporate reputation and public weariness toward corporate America are factors driving up jury verdicts.” https://lnkd.in/gSEmgBug
