All the good people are already taken, and nobody wants to work with small budgets. Ever heard this before? I hear it a lot from heads of growing B2B SaaS companies, especially those worried about hiring salespeople. In a market where everyone is fighting to stand out, knowing how to grow and who to hire can be really tough. But just because you haven't found the right person yet doesn't mean it's impossible. Thinking that way won't help. You can find people to do the right work in a way that makes them fulfilled and is right for your company. Before deciding on hiring, I would try to decide what the right approaches are: Is it making the content or product right? Is it outreach? Is it partnership? Is it channels? Or something else? Decide on your plan before you bring the person on. Knowing what you want to do can help you find the right person for the job. Don't hire just to experiment, as figuring out what’s going to work is really hard and very risky. Hiring someone new is always a bit of a gamble, especially if you're trying something new. But sometimes, to grow, you've got to take risks. If you want to grow faster than you're currently growing, The trick is choose the Direction first and fill the role for that direction, as opposed to hiring first and then saying, "You figure it out." That is too risky, really hard, and a bigger bet. That way, you're not just gambling; you're making a smart bet.
