Not all days are the same! It's a known fact that in a business, there will highs and lows. You can't expect to get the same amount of business every day of the year. So, as a client relationship manager, there are days when there's a barrage of clients to talk to and even close the deal with but then there are days when there's a dip in that number or you aren't able to close the deal because of some or the other factors. Now I'll be honest, such days are pretty hard because despite understanding that you can't gain every single client you talk to, you still have those doubts of if you could have done something to close the deal. It's demotivating at times and you can feel the pressure of it all, especially if you have month-end targets to achieve, thankfully I don't, but that feeling of guilt still lingers within. The silver lining in all of this, though is that it also encourages me to do better, to try new ways to close a client. But if you ask me, even I'm still figuring out how to deal with such days in the right manner and just going with the flow till then because at the end of the day, it's a never-ending learning process.

When you learn a new tool 🔧 or piece of knowledge in contract management, remember that it needs to be adapted to the specific environment 🌳 you are working in. Copying and pasting a strategy or idea that worked for someone else without needed adaptation might be a recipe for disaster 💣. Instead, remember 🤔 to: unlearn, learn, digest, metabolize, and use these new building blocks to formulate your own winning contract management plan and strategy. Unlearning is very important, as it is challenging to implement a new concept 💡 or tool while being inflexible and continue sticking to old 👴🏼 mentalities and practices.
