Considering their definitions of fascism, marxism, democracy, and American History all vary greatly from the norm, I would put that number very very low. For instance, The USA is not a Christian Nation, no matter how many times you heard a Republican shill say it on TV, radio or in Congress. You can look it up, but you don't because anything that disagrees with the leader MUST be a lie. Even if the leader disagrees with himself from day to day, that's not a reason to question. He's perfect: infallible. No Puerto Rican (or Cuban, or Filipino, or Guamese, and so on) sat at the negotiating table, nor was any consulted, and this boded ill for the future and the Puerto Rican anticolonial resistance born, revealing a long tradition of nationalist and anti-imperialist struggle. Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos was a Puerto Rican nationalist leader who argued that the U.S. invasion and subsequent occupation of Puerto Rico in 1898 were illegal under international law. He believed that Puerto Rico had the right to self-determination and that the U.S. had violated the island's sovereignty. Additionally, three presidents have been injured in attempted assassinations: former president Theodore Roosevelt (1912, by John Schrank), Ronald Reagan (1981, by John Hinckley Jr.) and Donald Trump (2024). In all of these cases, the attacker's weapon was a firearm. Many assassination attempts, both successful and unsuccessful, were motivated by a desire to change the policy of the American government.[2] Not all such attacks, however, had political reasons. Many other attackers had questionable mental stability, and a few were judged legally insane. Historian James W. What happened last weekend at one of Trump's campaign rallies was without a doubt jarring. America has always and will continue to be a divided nation. So many disheartening issues continue to go unresolved year after year. In the last years, American politics has become an hub for distasteful words and actions. The last election year (2020) was absolutely absurd. I have never in my life so far experienced anything like the years of 2020 and 2021. Viewing the entire globe simultaneously trying to cope with rapid Coronavirus outbreaks, social lock downs, hospital staffing shortages, supply chain shortages and the list could go on will forever be burnt into my memories. Among those unimaginable events occuring was an presidential election that was equally unlike anything I saw before. The psychological, social and cultural stress of 2020 definitely aided in shaping that election cycle. With another American election cycle looming this year, stress and tension in this nation has not become better. I feel this is only the beginning of more bold public displays of violence at political functions. What do you think of this footage? Were you already aware of this event? Is it shocking to you that the shooter was easily able to elude security and discover a spot to fire from?

Seriously, the Republican National Committee convention now makes the 2006 film #Idiocracy seem like thoughtful look at the future of US politics rather than satire. Considering the eligible voters in the US, the indisputable fact is that half are below average intelligence. Using entertainment, puffery, deception and misleading statements, is probably a more effective strategy to getting the below average to vote for your candidate than having a serious policy discussion (e.g. taxes and rule of law). The unscrupulous will use Hulk Hogan, lies, etc to win. Cynical electioneering which manipulated the electorate delivered Germany to #Hitler in 1933. Other autocrats in Europe are trying to replicate the entertainment and mis-information model today to deliver power to themselves, and their cronies. Back to the US, where its financial markets currently trade at a premium compared with foreign markets. Such an insurrection follows a peaceful voting process to amend the Constitution, and get amendments ratified by a majority of the states, just as it has been amended 27 times in its history since its initial ratification in 1787, the first 10 amendments being the Bill of Rights. Disregarding this process, as Trump tried to do on January 06, 2021 and as his own Vice President Mike Pence overrode him in Congress on the same day, is Trump’s utter disregard for the United States.
