I was laid off... again. There, I said it. Ripped off the band aid. Boy oh boy, that one hurt. I thought that not posting it on LinkedIn would somehow not make it real, but let's face it, it's real, and it's been awhile. I came to realize that I'm probably doing a disservice to myself by not posting because I have an amazing network, and maybe you know someone, who knows someone, who's hiring. I'm curious. What's your perspective on what's happening in the marketing industry? What will happen to our jobs with the advancement of AI and Automation? How do we manage to deliver results when campaigns are becoming less and less effective across all channels? I've been seeing massive layoffs of marketing talent and some of the best marketers I know are without work or underemployed. The advancement of artificial intelligence and automation will surely affect jobs for content marketers, writers, graphic designers, web developers and data analysts. These professions may cease to exist. What's your take? What do you think is going to happen over the next 1-2 years, 5 years? What shifts do we need to make to stay relevant?

I started an agency 3 years ago. Here's a list of our current challenges: 1. Hiring 2. Hiring 3. Hiring Almost everyone I speak to seems to be in the same boat, regardless of industry, scale, or location. How is it that people are looking for jobs, and companies are looking for people, but no one seems to get a job or find people? This is an over-simplification, but I think that in general, people want more than they deserve, and companies want more than they can afford, and neither is willing to budge. #hiring

Creative hiring managers, please stop posting jobs that you have no intention of hiring for. Because, you're driving candidates crazy and damaging your own reputation. My team and I are hearing the chatter from frustrated candidates who feel like they're applying for phantom jobs. They're questioning if you're disorganized, if their applications are even being seen, and if you're genuinely interested in hiring. I get it – managing a flood of applicants can be overwhelming. But if you're going to post jobs online, take responsibility and create a system to organize and respond to these candidates. Even an automatic reply is better than radio silence! If you're in over your head, work with a recruiter. That's what we do – we sift through thousands of applicants to find you the top dozen worth your time. And if your internal recruiting teams are struggling to keep up, take the job posting down and help them develop better systems and support. Failing to do so reflects poorly on your brand. I'm speaking on behalf of the candidates here, and I hope you're listening. Open roles below, scroll down. It just does not make sense. I hear that a lot from frustrated candidates. I can agree that the process is challenging. But often It does make sense for the hiring company. Big companies and small companies have different ways but in the end it is designed so that they can find the right candidate. I know you don’t need to hear it but you are not right for them. Frustrating that your background, resume, profile prevented you from getting even a look. If you received 500 resumes, what would you do? You would look for some of the ones that made the most sense for you to interview. You can’t meet everyone who submits. So it kinda does makes sense, doesn’t it? "But I did interview and it still does not make sense." That is a longer post that can be attributed to your direct and indirect factors. your interview (s) to competition. In the end it makes sense for the hiring manager. It just sucks for you. It is why I keep encouraging you, don’t let things get you down. You had a job before, you will get one again. Focus on the controllable . Practice and prep. Refine your story. Use your network. Why are you applying for this role❓ Seriously?... Let's talk about this, I need to tell somewhere how I feel, right now🤯 Okay, so what's the point of this question- Why are you applying for this role? What does HR want to hear from me? ... MONEY!!! It is just one right honest answer for 99,9% of people. However no,... I guess they want to see another answer. Okay, I can write something from my imagination, or even ask Chat GPT, and you'll get a fabulous text, but it's still a lie. I am not talking about Google, Microsoft, Meta, Apple and so on brands, where working there is a dream for someone, that's ookaaay... but when you apply to one more clinic, restaurant, or e-commerce brand, or any other, just another one and this is even 1st step. Sometimes who create these nice forms think that just a simple question is not enough and they do it with a "*" mark, so I can't miss it anyway. I spend my time filling the form with such stupid questions, to get then an "Unfortunately" boilerplate email. I agree, that during the interview stage, it's great for both sides to ask about values and missions, how they suit to candidate and the company, and about the candidate's ambitions and career focus, but not on the application stage! Why ask me about what I found in your company before you know if I have the skills and experience you require?
