1. a confusing and difficult problem or question. If these (below) are not conundrums, I don't know what is.
The six contradictions of socialism in the United States of America :
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
And that pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.
Does your church or ministry need guidance from a neutral perspective and outside mind to help navigate your statement of welcome and inclusion?
Often, when churches have policy and inclusion statement needs it’s helpful to have someone like us facilitate as you discuss and move forward.

Analyzing populism reveals its complex nature. On one hand, populism can serve as a corrective force within democracies, amplifying the voices of marginalized groups and challenging established power dynamics. It can bring attention to issues neglected by mainstream politics and foster political engagement among disaffected populations. However, populism's simplistic dichotomy of "the people" versus "the elite" can oversimplify complex societal issues and lead to the scapegoating of certain groups, fostering division and polarization within societies.

Today in the USA, we celebrate “Labor Day”.
Work is an important part of life. It helps us use our talents to help build a better world, independent of the industry in which we work.
As the Bible said “Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!” Proverbs 14:23 NLT

Exploring loneliness together.
Monika Jiang’s quest strikes a deep chord.
I’ve also been researching, curating and writing on resonant and overlapping themes.
Navigating between worlds, many are at a loss, in some ways untethered and disoriented, in some ways paradoxically anchored by old constructs that are crumbling all around.
Within me and at the heart of the Unstitution commons, navigating an emergent and strategic learning journey, bridging divides, rooted in collaboration - we embrace our individual-ness while integrally connecting to a greater whole - our human and planetary living family.
We can all be unstitutional.
The barriers and boundaries that circumscribe and perpetuate dysfunctional "we-they" postures and dynamics can dissolve, blend and reconstitute into authentic "us-ness."
This journey surfaces questions, inviting us to plumb some depths as we navigate forward, living into an unknowable future…discerning patterns that might help us set a life-affirming trajectory that celebrates rich diversity and offers ample space for our multitudes - a "reframed sense of belonging."
As social beings, the "longing to belong" is powerful. Now is a time to consciously reframe what belonging means and the different forms this might take, transcending the tribal homogeneity and likemindedness that fortifies (artificial) divides.
On a more personal note…I've experienced profound loss, especially over the past 5 years. I have, thankfully, through the course of my lifetime, befriended solitude. Sometimes that solitude is a thin veneer for the aching loneliness that takes up residence at a deeper level. I've often said, that I’ve spent most of my life feeling like I don’t belong in "this world."
And so, I resonate with Monika’s quest to explore our (existential) loneliness - together...
Loneliness. So often it causes people to bristle - to brush it aside, to turn away - as it burrows a deeper hole in our collective souls.
We talk about being vulnerable, how it’s okay, how it brings us together. Yet loneliness, as defined in a society that exalts individualism, is so often treated as an individual problem. Loneliness touches a very vulnerable nerve…that hasn’t been fully acknowledged and welcomed into the vulnerability space that has opened up in recent years.
Monika sheds light on the politics of loneliness, exploding some myths. Bringing loneliness out of the murky shadows and into the light can reveal artificial separateness. Perhaps the exploration of loneliness is an important part of our journey toward a reframed sense of belonging…
When we allow ourselves to experience loneliness, together…can we uncover and discover our connectedness? Will that help us get on with more meaningful, interconnected and purposeful spirit-full life and work endeavours?
Thanks Monika. Dip in here, an ongoing quest/labour of love:

We usually relate peace-building efforts to areas affected by conflict and war, exclusively. But the truth is we can be peace-builder everywhere as long as structural violence (and violence in all its forms) exists.
The definition of positive peace distinguishes that peace is not just the absence of war but social justice, equality, and the wellbeing of communities.
As Theirworld has highlighted, early childhood is where inequality begins. Focusing on the early years can stop the structural causes of violence in our communities. It’s in our hands to advocate so that our children have the right opportunities and resources to develop their fully potential. And help create more just, egalitarian and sustainable communities.
