FearIsNotLove Scentsy Buddy and Buddy Clip Drive!! FearIsNotLove: We are here to support Calgary and area individuals, families, and communities to live free from domestic violence and abuse. For more information visit https://fearisnotlove.ca. My goal is to be able to donate 30 buddies and 30 buddy clips! This goal is achievable with your help and I have until December 1st to get all the buddies ordered. So now you might be asking what is a Scentsy buddy drive? Well it is very similar to a toy drive you would order a Scentsy buddy through me, it would be shipped to my house, then I would deliver them all to FearIsNotLove, and then they will given to the kids! There are 2 ways to donate: 1) select the buddy or buddy clip you would like to donate, message me and place your order. I will order it, have it shipped to my house to add to my collection. 2) donate a flat amount of money to me via email transfer I will use the funds to purchase buddies or clips to donate. Check out the available Buddies and Buddy Clips here: https://lnkd.in/g-HezCZa

Even after fleeing war & torture, child survivors in the UK face hostility and struggle to access basic needs - like having a safe & stable home. We believe all children deserve to grow up feeling safe. That’s why our teams work tirelessly to provide the support they need to thrive. But we can’t support children without more funds. If you believe that children impacted by torture should have the chance to live for the future, give whatever you can and have your donation doubled - until Tuedsay only. fftdonate.org/big-give-li

Over the Christmas holidays, Alina Wardzala and her 70-year-old father were brutally murdered by her husband, leaving behind three young children in the care of their grandmother. This unimaginable loss has left a family devastated and children in urgent need of support. Marcie and I donated this morning to help provide for these children during this tough time. I encourage you to join us in supporting their care through the GoFundMe campaign. Every contribution makes a difference – and if you've already donated to the children, please consider supporting one of many domestic violence shelters and support organizations in Calgary or your community. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/gs7hc7ZQ This tragedy is also a stark reminder of the pervasive and devastating impact of domestic violence. It is an epidemic that continues to claim lives, shatter families, and leave deep scars on survivors. As men, we have a responsibility to confront and dismantle the cultural and societal norms that enable domestic violence. This means holding ourselves and others accountable, promoting healthy relationships, and advocating for change. Policymakers also need to take this issue far more seriously. Strengthening support for survivors, increasing funding for prevention programs, and ensuring law enforcement and the justice system respond appropriately are critical steps to making a meaningful impact. (current restraining orders are an absolute joke and provide no protection to those trying to escape abusers) We owe it to families like Alina's to act urgently and compassionately. If you can, please consider donating and sharing the GoFundMe link. Together, we can support the Wardzala children and work toward meaningful change to prevent domestic violence in all its forms.

ICYMI: ReSurge was highlighted as one of the best charities helping burn victims in Impactful Ninja's 2024 listing of "9 Best Charities That Help Burn Victims." "Internationally, low- and middle-income countries suffer over 180,000 burn-related deaths annually, many of which could be avoided with timely access to quality care. Fortunately, charities around the world are working to aid survivors of burn injuries throughout the healing process. So we had to ask: What are the best charities that help burn victims?" Scammers commonly set up fake charities to take advantage of people’s generosity during natural disasters and other tragic events. Taxpayers should use the Tax Exempt Organization Search Tool to check that an organization is legitimate before they donate money: https://lnkd.in/ehUPs3wZ

It's International Day of Charity and as a small charity we are passionate about making a BIG impact... Last year... 💓 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefitted from 1:1 bereavement counselling and/or group activities 💓 153 professionals and parents/carers benefitted from bereavement and loss training to better support 100's of locally bereaved families 💓 177 of telephone advice and guidance was provided 💓 100% of children and their families that accessed support felt they had benefitted We received only 3% of our income from statutory sources (this is not definite for future years and is only for our Bassetlaw service). The other 97% relies on donations from the community, corporates, and Trusts. Our events and challenges are a crucial part of these donations, raising the funds we need to continue to operate and support local children and their families during one of the most devastating times in their lives. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our small charity. Please see our website to see upcoming events and challenges: https://lnkd.in/ev-jeHA7 #Internationaldayofcharity

💜 Emergency Appeal - PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide 💜 For the first time in our 28-year history, PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is launching an emergency appeal to keep HOPELINE247 running through the night. Without urgent support, we may be forced to make the devastating decision to cut back our services. Every three minutes, a distressed young person contacts HOPELINE247, our suicide prevention helpline. These calls, texts, and messages come during their darkest hours—often in the middle of the night, when other services aren’t available to them. Since extending HOPELINE247 to a 24/7 service last year, demand has surged. In 2024 alone, we had 12,000 life-saving interactions during the night and saw a 66% increase in the number of young people seeking help through our webchat service. These numbers tell us how vital our work is, but rising costs and a sharp decline in donations across the charity sector have brought us to a critical moment. If you are able to donate, please do https://lnkd.in/egAkUJZA
Let us be straight with you… To keep our suicide prevention helpline running through the night, we need your support with our emergency appeal. Your donation will save young lives. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post and encourage others to help us. Hope can’t wait until the morning. Donate to our emergency appeal today. https://lnkd.in/e5fMyhZT
