ASAP - The Association of Serviced Apartment Providers wants to extend congratulations to The Labour Party for last week’s election victory.
Incoming ministers of note for our sector include Angela Rayner, Deputy Prime Minister, and Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
We’ve written to Ms Rayner today, following our meeting last November when she was interested to find more about our sector.
This meeting encouraged us to finish our Independent Review of the Role and Value of the serviced apartment sector in the UK - https://lnkd.in/eMKWuQm7
As the report shows, our industry contributes around £1.7bn to the economy in the UK and employs over 6,000 people within the hospitality and key accommodation sector. And as our Members serve the valuable business travel, relocation, film, insurance, and emergency housing industries among others, we are sure the incoming government will understand we want to ensure the sector isn't adversely affected by any future legislative changes.
Congratulations to Ms Rayner, we look forward to continuing the conversation and representing our important sector of the hospitality industry.
Other new ministers of note include:
Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer;
Lisa Nandy, Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport;
Sir Chris Bryant, Minister of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
Yvette Cooper, Home Secretary;
Jonathan Reynolds, Secretary of State for Business and Trade;
Steve Reed OBE, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs;
Hilary Bell, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland;
Ian Murray, Secretary of State for Scotland;
Jo Stevens, Secretary of State for Wales;
Matthew Pennycook, Minister of State at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities; and
Jim McMahon OBE, Minister of State at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, among others.
Congratulations to them all, ASAP will be contacting them over the coming days, representing our Members and building relationships with their departments.
As Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, has just announced in her first speech, there is no time to be lost. Exciting times!
