🌳How to Co-create with Nature?🐛 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of joining an on-stage dialogue with partners in crime Tiia Vihand Estonian Design Centre and Vincent van Herk Dutch Design Week, moderated by Päivi Tahkokallio, on this important, interesting, and inspiring question: How to co-create with nature? Spending an entire Summit during munich creative business week on this topic is, from my point of view, encouraging. This would not have been the case 3-5 years ago. I enjoyed that throughout this Summit, the intention was not to conclude anything but simply to share perspectives and debate the HOW, because there’s no one answer to this question. 🙏🏼 But what is key to me is that we grow confidence in debating the how, and explore and experiment in a way that, 10 years from now (hopefully only 5 years!), co-creating with nature is mainstream. Some key takeaways: 🍀 How to give Nature a voice? Nature has a voice. Nature will fix itself. We, humans, need to find ways to listen. 🍀 Nature is one of the most important stakeholders, whether you want to recognize it or not. 🍀 Co-creation with nature has a crucial impact on climate change mitigation. But co-creating with nature also offers substantial potential in relation to health, wellbeing, community building, and a sense of belonging. 🍀 Co-creation processes create empathy – in this case, for both humans and non-humans. 🍀 We, the current generations, need to accept that we are planting seeds today that will be harvested by future generations. 🍀 Collaboration, collaboration, collaboration!!! I am happy that I could represent both DDC – Danish Design Center, BEDA - The Bureau of European Design Associations, and Desire an Irresistible Circular Society. The mcbw design summit 2024 was a complete success: an entire day was dedicated to examining the theme of the year in more detail from different angles: How to co-create with nature ... as a designer, an entrepreneur, a creatively active person. We heard the interesting positions of the mcbw advisory board, the international perspectives of BEDA members and then delved deeper into the individual sub-themes with selected examples from high-calibre speakers. The highlight was certainly mcbw's Creative Explorer: Stefano Boeri and his presentation on Green Obsession. There was no shortage of networking either - it was an all-round successful day full of inspiration. Many thanks to all participants, speakers, organisers and the Munich Urban Colab team. 🙏 Stefano Boeri Stefano Boeri Architetti Daniela Bohlinger BMW Group Officina Corpuscoli MOGU mycelium Laura Kiesewetter Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) Tom Kortbeek Fillip Studios Leonhard Nima Studio Nima BEDA - The Bureau of European Design Associations Päivi Tahkokallio Tiia Vihand Christina Melander Vincent van Herk BayernDesign #designconnects #mcbw24 #designweek #designsummit #inspiration #howtococreatewithnature #TheGermanDesignEvent #designtalk #paneldiscussion #design Reel: Martin Bresler
