The federal government’s new staffing mandate is a hot topic in healthcare. The new rule requires long-term facilities to provide residents with 3.48 hours of daily nursing care. To comply, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid estimate that 3,200 facilities nationwide would have to hire nearly 13,000 additional registered nurses.
On paper, that’s a win-win scenario: more job opportunities for nurses and elevated care for residents. However, due to the current nursing shortage, trade groups and nursing homes themselves are arguing that the new standards are unattainable.
At Roshal, we developed our scalable technology platform to help healthcare hiring managers secure the licensed providers they need to fill every shift. Our on-demand medical professionals can fill in for someone who’s sick or bolster an entire nursing home’s workforce. Regardless of the scenario, the result is consistent care for the people who need it, and lower costs with greater personnel control for healthcare facilities.
