Geostationary satellites cover a specific target area of the Earth with a signal. Communication companies usually use several geostationary satellites to cover the entire earth with such satellites. Since about a month ago, SpaceX started populating a new D2D VLEO shell with satellites orbiting with an inclination of 43 degrees, likely to supplement the satellites orbiting with 53 degrees. Currently, out of the 377 Starlink Direct-to Cell (DTC) satellites, 51 are orbiting with an inclination of 43 degrees (NCAT5). It appears that this new 43-deg shell is meant to increase the average count of satellites “in view” in lower latitudes but SpaceX will possibly continue populating the 53-degree shell as well.   Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dwERNwDN

SpaceX Set to Launch 20 Starlink Satellites into Orbit Early on July 3, SpaceX is gearing up to launch 20 Starlink satellites into space from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket, carrying 13 satellites with direct-to-cell capabilities, is scheduled to blast off during a three-hour window starting at 2:57 a.m. EDT (0601 GMT). If all goes according to plan, the Falcon 9's first stage will return to Earth about eight minutes after launch, touching down on the droneship "A Shortfall of Gravitas" in the Atlantic Ocean. This will mark the 16th launch and landing for this particular booster, which has already completed 15 successful flights, with 10 of those being Starlink missions.
