If anyone has any doubts about why we must help Ukraine win this war, watch this. If Russia even has a semblance of victory in this conflict, then we are saying that cultural genocide - the erasure of a people’s identity - is OK. This erasure of identity can not only take place at the point of a gun, but through cyberattacks and other hybrid warfare. There’s more at stake than we realize. #narrativestrategy #narrativewarfare

Narrative Warfare: We at Narrative Strategies take our definition of "narrative" from the social sciences. A cultural narrative is the mythological (not necessarily fictional) fabric of a culture. Central to that fabric is identity and meaning. So #NarrativeWarfare is conflict over cultural identity and meaning. To understand the central target we need to distinguish "narrative" as used in street slang (kinda like story, kinda like propaganda, etc) from the way the term is used in the social sciences: the thematic meta glue that holds a culture together. As Chris points out, this is an example of Narrative Warfare, properly understood.
