How can a logistics professional add value to you and your customers? - - - Over the years I have acquired many new ways to add value and justify quality of performance over just another freight bill. "Nurture your Network." The definition of "Nurture" is the care for and encourage the growth or development of. So how do you nurture your network? Number 1. Kindness and appreciation. How many carriers come back to rude and unprofessional logistics coordinators? Your drivers are the heart and soul of your success as a logistics professional. Telling a driver or dispatcher that you appreciate what they do for you and reminding them that you are grateful goes a very long way. It's a simple as saying Thank you. Number 2. Communicate lanes that work for both parties. If you had a good load from booking to delivery, then it is as simple as asking some company questions to the driver as you would a customer. Do a little extra work to find a lane that works well within the customer to driver network. Number 3. Be flexible. The economy as we know it hits the trucking business before it hits any other business. The same trusted carriers who haul for you are narrowing down their selections for other business by commitment to your business. I just got off the phone with a driver who said, "I know I have guaranteed good freight back up, so I will be fine coming down for less." Hearing that shows why being able to have that flexibility on your spend that moves with the market is key when partnering with good, trusted carriers that care. I could go on and on with more examples but those are the "Top 3" reasons on how a logistics professional can add value to you and your customers. Nurture your Network. #Logistics #insight #buisnessdevelopment #Transportation #Trucking #topics
