There have been many memes comparing these two athletes recently (Even I posted one yesterday with a different context). However, I want to clarify something. It's not right to compare them or to celebrate someone just because someone used less or no gear. IMO, The Turkish shooter might have won gold if he had trained with the proper gears. Sports gadgets and equipments, developed through years of research and testing, have repeatedly proven their ability to enhance performance. For instance, in this year’s ITT (Individual Time Trial) cycling event, Wout van Aert secured a bronze medal by less than 2 seconds, just because he rode with an advanced double disc-setup wheels (he acknowledged this advantage in post race interview). When athletes are evenly matched, advanced equipment can provide a critical advantage. By the way, the person in the first image won gold and broke the world record in 25m pistol women’s event 😀 #Olympia2024 #shooters #WORLDRECORD #Paris2024

The #ParisOlympics 100-meter sprint was a thrilling event! In the men's category, #NoahLyles from the USA won the gold medal in a photo finish with a time of 9.784 seconds, narrowly beating Jamaica's #Kishane Thompson who timed 9.789 seconds. #Fred Kerley from the USA secured the bronze medal. Noha Lyles edged out Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson on Sunday by #five-thousandths of a second. Just imagine .A margin of #0.005 seconds is incredibly small, and it would be nearly impossible for the naked eye to detect. To put it into perspective: #The average human blink lasts around 0.3-0.4 seconds, A typical TV broadcast has a frame rate of 30-60 frames per second (FPS), which means each frame is displayed for around 0.016-0.033 seconds. Now To accurately capture a difference of 0.005 seconds, the frame rate would need a high-speed camera capable of recording at an extremely high frame rate of #1,000 FPS and above, Even then, the difference might be only 5-10 frames apart. Certainly without advanced #technology and high-speed cameras, this tiny margin would be impossible to detect, and we wouldn't be able to appreciate the incredible athleticism and competitive spirit of these Olympic athletes! #ParisOlympics2024

Incredible contrast at the Olympics! The Human Factor vs. Technological Edge: A Tale of Two Athletes In a stunning Olympic display, Turkey challenged the norm by sending a 51-year-old competitor, clad in nothing more than a t-shirt, to face off against a technologically-enhanced opponent. While the latter, equipped with state-of-the-art gear, secured gold, the elder athlete's silver medal is a testament to raw human potential and the enduring spirit of competition. This remarkable contrast underscores the evolving landscape of sports, where age-old determination meets cutting-edge innovation. #Olympics #sports #technology #humanpotential

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, 51-year-old Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikeç captured the world's attention and a silver medal in the air pistol team event. His unique approach—shooting with one hand in his pocket and no fancy gear—was a breath of fresh air in a sport dominated by high-tech equipment. Dikeç's story isn't just about his remarkable win; it's a powerful lesson for all of us: • Age is just a number. Success can come at any stage of life. • You don't need fancy tools to excel. Skill and confidence can outshine expensive gear. • Stand out by being yourself. Authenticity is a magnet for inspiration. • Hard work always pays off. Determination trumps everything. Yusuf Dikeç reminds us that greatness comes from within. Whether you're chasing an Olympic medal or personal milestone, trust in your abilities and keep pushing forward. Your moment to shine could be just around the corner. #olympics #paris2024 #nevergiveup

Yesterday, the 200-meter men's final at the Paris 2024 Olympics took place, and there has been a lot of talk about one of the athletes, Noah Lyles. Lyles is a very successful sprinter, having won three world championships and a bronze medal at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games. He also won a gold medal in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. In 2023, he made history by winning three sprint events at the World Championships, a feat not achieved since Usain Bolt did it in 2015. (Source: Wikipedia) Noah Lyles comes across as a confident and driven individual. He truly believes in himself and his abilities, which motivates him to strive for excellence every day. However, some people see him as too proud and full of himself. This raises the question: Where does self-confidence end and arrogance begin? In a documentary called "Sprint" on Netflix, you can see behind-the-scenes moments with Lyles and other track runners. From his interactions, you can tell that Lyles exudes confidence and determination, influences that stem from his background and the support of people like his mom, who motivates him despite his asthma. Before the final race, Lyles was poised and prepared, fully confident in his ability to win. However, Letsile Tebogo emerged as the victor, leaving Lyles with a third-place finish. Now, the question remains: How do we differentiate between self-confidence, pride, arrogance, and boastfulness? Note: Many people are critical of Lyles, labelling him as prideful and boastful. The name of the Paris 2024 mascot is Olympic Phryge, based on the traditional small Phrygian hats that the mascots are shaped after. The name and design were chosen as symbols of freedom and to represent allegorical figures of the French republic. As Paris 2024’s vision is to demonstrate that sport can change lives, the mascots will be playing a major role by leading a revolution through sport. The Olympic Phryge is decked out in blue, white and red - the colours of France’s famed tricolor flag - with the golden Paris 2024 logo emblazoned across its chest. Phrygian caps can be seen sat atop the head of the iconic figure Marianne in every town hall and even feature on everyday objects in France such as coins and stamps. They are also an international symbol of liberty worn by freed slaves in Roman times and appearing on different emblems in North and South America. Also known as the liberty cap, the Phrygian cap has become one of the symbols of the French Republic. The motto of the Olympic Phryge and Paralympic Phryge is: “Alone we go faster, but together we go further,” representing the ways in which the mascots, and the people of the world, can make each other better by working side-by-side. https://lnkd.in/gUgkVGcF

History has been made! On August 10, Lin Yu-ting was crowned an Olympic gold medal after defeating Poland in the women’s featherweight boxing match—our first ever gold in this category. Amid the misconceptions over her gender, Lin’s unwavering perseverance and remarkable skill shone through. Her victory concluded our journey in the Olympics with a total of 7 medals: 2 gold and 5 bronze across various sports. These exceptional results reflect a high level of dedication and preparation, establishing them as a formidable force in international competitions and a proud symbol of national achievement. Congratulations! As Paris 2024 comes to an end, focus is now on the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. As the event approaches, concerns about energy demands and infrastructure resilience are becoming increasingly relevant. Recently, a severe heatwave caused a significant power outage across Texas, California, and New York, demonstrating the challenges of grid strain and the potential for disruptions in electricity supply. Ensuring a stable and reliable power supply is crucial for the smooth operation of the games and the comfort of athletes and spectators. In response, the US is proactively working to prevent potential power issues. Efforts include investing in advanced energy infrastructure and developing robust contingency plans to manage energy demands effectively. These efforts aim to prevent power issues and ensure that the upcoming Olympics in Los Angeles run seamlessly, highlighting both athletic excellence and technological sophistication. #AMPOWER #Paris2024 #LA2028 #Olympics #Boxing #LinYuTing #GoldMedal
