Recognition Friday! - Kayte Foster Kayte and I have known each other since we were 5. Since first grade! We fell out of touch, as people do, but reconnected several years ago (thanks to the Facebooks 😆). Every once in a while our paths still cross. I reached out to Kayte a few weeks ago to talk about brand-building. We're connected on multiple social media platforms, and over the past few years, I've seen her posts evolve. Her content began to focus HEAVILY on her real estate business; generally what you'd expect from a Realtor, right? What strikes me about Kayte is her unwavering PERSISTENCE. Week after week for multiple years now, I'm getting updates on the Denver real estate market, some new listing, or a sale. And it's worked! She's successful in a competitive market and an industry that's always kind of difficult to fully understand. People clearly recognize her as a go-to resource for buying and selling real estate in Denver. Ultimately, her answers to my questions about how to manage putting yourself out there as a professional and persevering came down to two things (paraphrasing): 1) Not everyone is going to like what you say, the ones that do will find you 2) Just do the thing. And those are two simple rules I can understand and rely on. So, recognition Friday number 2 belongs to you, Kayte. I can't thank you enough for your perspective.

So, after eight months in to my new chapter I have the following to report back: It's both ironic and amusing that after 15 years of real estate management and the advice I have given to countless entrants in to new real estate markets, that I have experience it for myself to fully appreciate it. "It's going to be MUCH harder than you could imagine for the short term, and more rewarding than you can imagine in the medium term" Never truer words... Shaking the dust off my selling boots after 15 years of management has been such incredible experience, both exhilarating and nerve wracking in equal measure. especially when the risk of failure impacts on the people that rely on me and who I would do anything to protect. Exhilarating because I am my happiest when connecting with people. Growing the sales in my area of focus and our Real Estate Business allows me to do this all day every day. It also helps when the area you sell in, and the office you come to every day has the most amazing human beings. I have so much to be grateful for. So, in a nutshell, it's going good, really good. Watch this space.

50 years’ experience, 20 creating lasting impressions: branded merchandise; certified WBE; upholding top-tier standards of value, reliability, and excellence. Safeguarding your brand by adherence to branding guidelines.
Today I am excited to share that we are celebrating 20 Years Creating Lasting Impressions! it’s hard to believe how much time has passed. It feels like just yesterday I was starting my business, unsure of what challenges or rewards were ahead. (By the way, I know that “everyone” mentions how fast the time passes, but it’s absolutely true!) I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined, and the lessons I’ve picked up along the way have been invaluable. There have been countless experiences, both good and bad, that have shaped how I run my business today. Excellence Exceeds Expectation is one of the most important lessons I have learned. We go above and beyond to meet client expectations helping us to create lasting relationships. I am proud to say that many of our first clients are still working closely with us today. The relationships formed feel more like family and friends than clients. We value and appreciate all of our clients old and new while looking forward to creating more lasting relationships. What are you celebrating today? What lessons have you learned?

I didn’t start celebrating my wins until a solid decade into my career… Here’s the deal: banking moves at lightning speed. Whether on a trading floor, in corporate acquisitions, or private banking, the pace is FAST. It’s all about the hustle, right? But here’s the thing: when you’re caught up in the whirlwind, it’s easy to forget to stop and smell the success. For years, I pushed forward without taking a moment to appreciate my achievements. I thought it was just part of the grind. Let me tell you—celebrating your wins shouldn’t be a false promise to yourself or others. It should be part of your regular routine. It’s essential. Celebrating your wins fuels motivation, builds confidence, and reminds you why you’re in this game. 💪 So here’s my advice: Don’t wait until you’ve hit a massive milestone. Let’s pop the champagne for every win. Small or big—every victory counts. Life’s about enjoying the moments, and what is work if you can’t have fun in the process? Here’s how I do it…sometimes ✨ Personally, I keep a wins list and may or may not have a few jewellery items that represent a deal closed. The more I win, the more I help boost retail sales. Economics 101, right?! Here’s an old snap of me celebrating in NYC—proof that every win deserves recognition! So, if you can’t recall when you last celebrated your success… permission granted—own it! 🎉 Now, I want to hear from you! When was the last time you celebrated a win, big or small? Share your moments 👇 #CareerSuccess #CelebratingWins #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerTips

While preorders are critical, anytime a friend has a book come out I prefer to get it IN the store that day to: 1) ensure some launch day foot traffic to show demand 2) tell the staff they're either low on inventory or (in this case!) SOLD OUT and clearly need to reorder fast! 3) make the store aware of the title if they never stocked it Today was pub day for these 3 titles, all of which I now happily have in my apartment and can't wait to dig into: - Daisy Auger-Domínguez Burnt Out To Lit Up - Adriana Carrig The Power Of Little Words - Terry Szuplat Say It Well I'm lucky enough to be attending book talks for all three so posts about each will likely follow... And for now, highly recommend following each of these authors (and all around incredible humans!) as you'll see some of their posts about their books and more. And if like me you're hoping to write your own non-fiction masterpiece, one more related launch from today: Fran Hauser and Bethany Saltman, cohosts of the insightful BookBound podcast, launched their substack today. It is full of incredible tips for all aspiring authors. Highly recommend subscribing! Happy reading and/or writing!! And if you know of any other books w/ pub dates today or in the near future, please share below so we can all support!

When your friend shows up at Barnes & Noble, Inc. on Union Square the day before pub day, grabs the last copy of Burnt Out to Lit Up, and cheekily asks them to order more… that’s the kind of energy I’m here for! 😂📚 Thank you Sally Wolf for being such a supportive and kind friend. Huge thanks to everyone who’s already snatched up their copy! If you find those shelves looking empty, don’t be shy—ask for more! 😉

Seattle went to bed yesterday evening awash with purple, celebrating the epic win by our UW Huskies last night! They showed us exactly what "Bending Not Breaking" means, both on the gridiron and in the business world. Just like in any tough campaign, the Huskies faced adversity: last minute injuries stopping the clock, late penalties, and a focused opponent. But instead of crumbling, they adapted, adjusted, and made an incredible play with :01 on the clock. They bent, but they never broke. This is a crucial lesson for us all: Embrace the unexpected: Not every plan goes perfectly, and that's okay. Be flexible and adapt to challenges. Stay relentless: Even when things get tough, keep pushing forward. Persistence always pays off. Work together: Teamwork makes the dream work, on the field and in the office. Celebrate wins and support each other through setbacks. Believe in yourself: The Huskies knew they had it in them, and so do you. Confidence is key to achieving your goals. So, let's channel the Husky spirit this week! Let's bend the challenges thrown our way and dominate our professional goals. Go Dawgs!

Back in 2015, a curious mix-up happened. As I celebrated earning the RE/MAX Hall of Fame award, an unexpected package arrived. Inside was RE/MAX’s Lifetime Achievement award – an honour I knew I was years away from truly earning. Initially, it seemed like a simple error. After notifying RE/MAX, who promptly corrected the mistake, I faced a peculiar dilemma: what to do with the wrong award? Though advised to discard it, something within me stirred. That award, not meant for me yet, became a symbol of a goal not yet reached, a dream not yet realized. I kept it, tucked away but never forgotten. It transformed from simple parchment paper into a beacon of aspiration. Occasionally, during quiet moments of reflection and often accompanied by a scotch and a cigar, I found myself drawn to it. It was a physical manifestation of a future I yearned for. Fast forward to today, nearly a decade later, I hold in my hands the very same award which finally arrived this afternoon. This time, it’s not a mistake. It’s a testament to perseverance, ambition, and the power of a vision that refused to be dimmed. This journey reminds me of a profound message from Steve Harvey about attracting your outcome. His words, much like my experience with this award, underscore the power of belief and the magic of persistence. To everyone striving for their goals, remember: sometimes, the universe gives you a glimpse of your future success. It’s not just about working towards your dreams; it’s about living and breathing them, even when they seem just out of reach. 🔗 Inspired by Steve Harvey: Attracting Your Outcome - https://lnkd.in/g3X6bKSY #REMAX #REMAXCommercial #Achievement #Motivation #Goals #Inspiration #SuccessStory #Calgary #Canada #yyc #yycrealestate #calgaryrealestate
