🌍 "Keywords of the Datafied State" - Case Study 🎨💻. I'm excited to share one of my latest project, where I had the privilege to serve as Art Director, Layout Designer, Illustrator, and Digital Designer for Data & Society Research Institute's "Keywords of the Datafied State." This project is a compilation of essays crafted in collaboration with scholars worldwide, delving into the intricate relationship between government and technology across diverse geographies. The collection emerged from the need to define key concepts at the heart of this evolving discourse. Through our visual approach, we explored how individuals interact with governmental services, from housing to public amenities, and how these interactions are digitally mediated in often subtle ways. We also highlighted how these dynamics vary across regions and cultures, providing a global perspective on the digital state. I invite you to explore the full project and reflect on how these concepts resonate in your own experiences. Your feedback and insights would be greatly appreciated! #ArtDirection #DigitalDesign #DatafiedState #GovernmentTech #GlobalPerspectives #Behance #GraphicDesign

Do you see the difference between the average and good designers? A hint - sometimes you gotta color outside the lines. Just like in design, life isn’t always about being technically perfect. The ‘Average Designer’ follows the rules and creates something that works, but the ‘Good Designer’ understands that value comes from balance, intention, and knowing when to adjust for a better outcome. Life is similar—it’s rarely perfect, but when we focus on what matters, we can create something meaningful and beautiful. It’s about learning to navigate the imperfections to bring out the best results, both in design and in life.
Came across this and was wondering, what's the difference between the "Average designer" and the "Good designer"? Maybe there's something my eyes aren't seeing well 🤔

This week on SCRATCH—A new, original essay from designer, writer, and educator Eric Heiman! “The students will contend with disorganization, overextended employees, and disorder that no design system they make will ever fully sort out. I’ve slowly come to appreciate that this may be the point. I tell them it’s the quality of the interaction your work enables that is most important. One billion Uber users mean nothing if we’re talking about enriching our lives. Of better interactions between people. Fluid user experience, refined typography, extensive brand guidelines—yes, all important, and if they truly help, then all the better. But the better question to ask is a step back. Not is this the best design? Instead, is this the best use of design? Or maybe, is the best design no design at all?” Read “No Design (A diary)” by Eric Heiman https://lnkd.in/gHnbKcMn Eric Heiman is the principal and creative director of Volume, a San Francisco-based creative studio, and a Professor of Design at the California College of the Arts. #SurfacePodcast #SCRATCH_ #EricHeiman #design

Good design is when a client accepts the output, a user uses it and feels 'wow' and the business thrives. A good designer is someone who's eventually realized this truth or has a Guru who taught him / her this balance between the user, business and the expert to create a lasting experience. The rest can keep checking between horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines.

This is wild, it took me a minute until I saw it. (Try your luck guessing the difference below, if you give up check the rest of my answer below!) . . . . "Optical Alignment" Is used as a trick of optical illusion. The Square will always appear to be "larger" than the circle when sitting within the same baselines. As a designer (and heavily used in typography) we add slight scale to the circle and a hang tip of the triangle to make them appear to be the same scale as the square. What an excellent example of attention to detail.
