Sounds fun…
Our Houston Area volunteers teamed up with two of our Weatherford Walks charitable partners, Small Steps Nurturing Center and PTSD Foundation Of America, and dedicated their efforts to giving back to the local community! The One Weatherford Team had a fantastic experience as they rolled up their sleeves, cleaning up classrooms at Small Steps and assisting with garden maintenance at Camp Hope. A big thank you to our volunteers who participated in these events, and to our charitable partners for hosting us. We are looking forward to Weatherford Walks 2024! #OneWeatherford #WeatherfordWalks #Community #Volunteer #GivingBack

Child Protection Consultant |Improving care for children | Care Reform Coach| Norwegian-English Translation services
As I work to aid Charitable children institutions in transitioning towards family and community care, I often come across organizations dealing with children aging out of the care system. These children often lack independent living skills and encounter numerous obstacles, sometimes without supportive community networks. It's disheartening that they have to leave the system without the support and love of a family. Facilitating the search for suitable families for these children is crucial in ensuring their continued growth and well-being beyond institutional care. #carereform #familycare

Answer the Call – Save a Life. Yesterday, I chatted with two extraordinary charities - Haig Housing and Combat Stress. These charities are lifelines offering hope, housing, and mental health support for the veteran community and their families. At Ubique Developments, we’re pledging 5% of all our profits to be split, supporting these two causes. But it doesn’t stop there. We’re taking these corporate partnerships to the streets—using our site hoardings and other opportunities to raise awareness and rally support. If you’d like to learn more about the life-changing work of Haig Housing and Combat Stress, you’ll find links to their websites in the comments below. #UbiqueDevelopments #VeteranSupport #PayItForward

Reports like this should make us all hang our heads in shame. Some eye-opening statistics: The number of children in residential care in England has doubled over the past 12 years. it now stands at over 80,000 children (almost the same amount that is in our prisons) currently in care in England, a number that continues to rise. 70% of children in care have experienced abuse or neglect. 1 in 10 children in England have a diagnosable mental health condition. Call it what you want but continual cuts to vital services have exacerbated the problem. These are services which can prevent crises before they escalate, offering timely support to families and ensuring children can stay in safe, loving homes. Studies have shown that investing in early intervention can save up to £9 for every £1 spent by reducing the need for more intensive services later on. Doesn't every child deserves the chance to grow up in a stable, nurturing environment?

2 civic responsibility opportunities I would like to bring to your attention: 1) I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy. https://lnkd.in/gNx_pGje 2) I am also volunteering with the American Red Cross as a Ready Rating Program Advisor. The Ready Rating Program is a free service provided through a partnership between the American Red Cross and the Canadian Red Cross. It assists businesses, schools, and organizations in becoming prepared for disasters and other emergencies, helps meet OSHA requirements, and aligns with some Baldrige criteria (see 1.2c2 & 6.2c). I need to reach businesses & organizations about this free program to help improve preparedness throughout the U.S. https://lnkd.in/gTDSYizK.

A few year’s ago my family joined our first JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Toronto. We were incredibly inspired by JDRF’s commitment to improving lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and its complications. We were overcome with emotion being surrounded by other T1D families, ambassadors, and dedicated volunteers and staff. Our hearts were filled with hope for a bright future for our son Ashton, and all Canadians living with T1D. Experiencing this profound sense of community, we knew we had to be a part of JDRF’s mission to advance T1D, to find a cure, and to accelerate the pace of research to get closer to the goal of a world without diabetes. This is why it means so much to our family to be a part of the JDRF Holiday Match program. A cure for T1D would mean everything. It would mean no more finger pricks, no more needles, no fear of complications, no life-threatening urgent low blood sugars, and no more sleepless nights. It would mean Ashton could be present in every moment of every day, instead of worrying about what the next moment may bring. It would mean no children would have to live with T1D. Today, and every day, we dream of a cure and we never give up! 💙 #givingseason #diabetesawareness
Managing T1D is not easy – and this time of year is especially challenging. That’s why JDRF needs your help to change the reality of daily life with T1D for the better. Until Dec 31st, your donations will be MATCHED by a group of caring T1D families. Make 2x the impact → https://ow.ly/yHwy50QjU9U We wish you and yours the happiest of holiday seasons! 💙 #givingseason #diabetesawareness

An experienced marketing professional with a passion for strategy and design. I am currently running my own marketing business and studying in the field of health and wellness.
I wonder how many of you reading this can really answer the questions: 'What is Hospice Care?' and 'How do Hospice Isle of Man make the difference to those who need their services?' (And whilst we're on that subject... 'Who can use the services offered by Hospice Isle of Man?') This article is a great intro to the world of hospice care and the struggles faced by Hospice Isle of Man, along with many other charities across the Island, when looking at sustainability for the future. Educating yourself about the positive impact Hospice Isle of Man has on the Island's community (and perhaps challenging some of your initial thoughts!) is so important for your (and your loved one's) future. I can hand on heart say I had only scratched the surface with my understanding of its purpose but feel so much more comfortable should a loved one need their services in the future (and will be well equipped to advise on how to make the most of what is available!). Get yourself a brew and have a read... you've a lot more to gain than lose 💗
We’re excited to share an article from this week’s Examiner which is the first in a series of articles looking to dispel some common misconceptions about Hospice and showcase the positive impact we have on the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses. This article follows an interview with our CEO John Knight and shines a light on the importance of Hospice for the Island’s community as well as touching on the many varied services offered to patients and their loved ones (more on this to follow in the coming months...). John also addresses some of the tougher issues we face around funding and sustainability, introducing the idea of progressive partnerships amongst charities on the Island to use donations more wisely and strategically. We hope you enjoy learning more about our valuable services and how we truly make the difference to so many through our expert specialist palliative and end of life care.
