Chubb has a responsibility to encourage the transition to a net-zero economy. This includes maintaining a deep technical expertise to educate and guide our oil and gas clients in opportunities for identifying, monitoring and reducing their methane emissions. Methane is among the most potent greenhouse gasses contributing to climate change. Recently, a team of Chubb risk engineers and underwriters engaged in a unique training experience at the renowned Methane Emissions Technology Evaluation Center (METEC) at Colorado State University Energy Institute. This first-of-its-kind training initiated by Chubb, and delivered by Daniel Zimmerle of METEC, gave our risk engineering team the opportunity to observe how advanced tools, including optical gas imaging cameras and fixed sensors, can detect and measure methane emissions, better enabling us to engage with our oil and gas clients with their methane emissions mitigation initiatives. Find out more about our work to help oil and gas operators reduce their methane emissions by visiting Chubb’s Methane Resource Hub: https://lnkd.in/gDuP_bud #methane #netzero
