Good monitoring saves jobs. Lemme ‘splain. When I started in financial services, at this institution everyone started on the teller line for a few weeks, regardless of your actual role. Smart policy to keep everyone grounded on the real day to day work and customer focus of retail banking. My second week, my drawer was $1000 short when the next teller came in for her shift. Fortunately for me, the head teller, Betsy, had counted down my drawer after me, and both our numbers matched. Later, we found a pack of $50 bills that had fallen between drawers in the safe. If she hadn’t been watching, I would have lost my job and never would have spent the next 20 years in financial services. So - when your security team wants to perform enhanced monitoring of admin activity, it’s not that they don’t trust the admins, it’s just good governance, and it just may save someone’s job someday. Lean into it - solid governance helps everyone. Y’all have a great Thursday!
