Communities across the Southeast have been devastated by Hurricane Helene’s impact. If you would like to help survivors on their path to recovery and rebuilding, it’s important to remember to do so responsibly. Leave the on-the-ground assistance and recovery planning to the trained professionals. Instead of going by yourself to an affected area, or collecting donations to deliver to families in need, we urge you to donate financially 💸 to recognized relief organizations or join an established group that can offer guidance on how to best support impacted communities. Your desire to help is commendable—let's work together to ensure our support makes the greatest impact to those in need. The best way to help is to offer your time, money, or voice to established, charitable organizations that have the experience to direct your given resources to reach survivors. Together, we can help affected communities in their path to rebuilding stronger. Here's how to help those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.
As many of you may already be aware, Western North Carolina recently faced the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. The region experienced unprecedented flooding, with Asheville and surrounding communities enduring the worst flooding in over a century. The aftermath has left over hundreds of roads destroyed, and essential services such as cell service, water, gas, and heating unavailable. In light of this crisis, it hits close to home for us at Q2, as we have several employees residing in the affected Asheville area, along with employees with family members directly impacted. To support those in dire need, both Q2 as a company and our employees have been actively contributing funds and essential items. These donations are channeled directly to those most affected by the disaster. Here’s how to help: If you would like to contribute a monetary donation, please do so here: https://lnkd.in/ePtUQCpb – we have selected several non-profit organizations to donate to. You can also help by purchasing items on this Amazon Wishlist to assemble relief backpacks for delivery to Asheville this upcoming weekend and beyond. https://lnkd.in/edKYSSFs

Donations management is often referred to as the “Disaster Within a Disaster” as it takes a tremendous amount of resources to organize, categorize, store, and distribute physical goods. If you want to help those in western North Carolina and others impacted by #Helene, stick to cash donations to reputable organizations like the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army, or to local organizations supporting response and recovery efforts (h/t to Becky DePodwin, MSEM for this link): https://lnkd.in/gZrNFFXK This ensures the right resources get to those who need them most, while not pulling critical resources to sort through your lightly used clothes.
As a remindered , cash is best when advising folks how to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene National VOAD Members and Partners are currently assisting communities in need due to the impact of Hurricane Helene through the Southeast United States. National VOAD members and Partners will continue to serve these communities as long as is necessary. There is currently no request for donations outside of cash. Please do not send unsolicited donated goods. https://lnkd.in/g3Sje6VK
