On the anniversary of Kabul's fall, Nargis’ story reminds us of the strength many Afghans showed in uncertain times. Her journey from Afghanistan to the U.S. raises questions about what drives individuals to pursue a better future. It also makes us consider the untapped potential of those facing adversity. Nargis' story is not just about fleeing danger; it's about daring to believe in something bigger. Read more: https://bit.ly/4g1Rtb1

Do you have an alter ego? For me, it was General Mohammed Fahim of the Northern Alliance of Afghanistan. As the leader of the Northern Alliance, he fought tirelessly against Taliban forces in Afghanistan. It's fascinating how an alter ego can give us a different perspective and allow us to tap into different parts of ourselves. Have you ever explored your alter ego? Stop the GENOCIDE in GAZA. People across the world are marching and expressing their solidarity with Gaza. Nothing is stopping them, neither some unjust laws nor harsh weather conditions. It doesn’t matter whether it’s snowing, raining, cold, day or night. People are standing for justice for Palestinians. Humanity is standing for humanity. Palestinians are living under the longest military occupation in modern history. It’s time to bring this military occupation to an end. #ShutItDown4Palestine #stopgenocideingaza #stoparmingisrael …………………………………………………………………………….. Framing Conflicts in Cultural Terms:The War on Terror: After the 9/11 attacks, the U.S. government launched the "War on Terror", framing it as a struggle between Western values of democracy and freedom and the extremist ideology of groups like al-Qaeda. This narrative portrayed the conflict as one between civilizations. Consequences: By casting the conflict in cultural and religious terms, it became easier to rally public support for military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq. The "clash of civilizations" rhetoric helped justify these actions as necessary to defend Western civilization against the threat of radical Islam

𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗢! 🇨🇭 Today is the 𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝗺 𝗞𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘂𝗿, a day of reflection, justice, and atonement. But instead of peace, we face a harsh reality: 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲, when Hamas terrorists unleashed unimaginable brutality on Israeli civilians—Israeli Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Entire families were torn apart. 𝗨𝗡𝗥𝗪𝗔, a UN agency supposedly 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘪𝘥, has enabled and protected Hamas for years, allowing its facilities to be used to store weapons and launch attacks. Yet, despite these proven ties to terror, UNRWA has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. 𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆. We oppose any organization that supports terror while masquerading as a force for peace. Awarding UNRWA would be like honoring ISIS or Nazi Germany for “social contributions.” It is an insult to victims and a mockery of the very concept of peace. 🍉 There is no scenario in which we will let Israel get away with this! No way! And we will always remember who supported this for as long as we live and then we will teach our children who did this and what broken governance system allowed it, so that they will be able to recognize the villains of their time. What is common throughout history is that the villians and their supporters always think they do the right thing. Even Adolf Hitler told the Germans that he would defend them from harm, that he loves his people and that he does everything only for the German people. The Germans did not start a world war because they woke up one morning and suddenly felt like annihilating neighbour countries. They went to war because they have accepted the lie that they were threatened and needed to defend themselves against foreign and internal enemies. Most big wars have been started on the pretext of self defense. This genocide is no different. Our politicians sit in their safe offices signing weapons export permits acting like they are only supporting self defense against a terrorist organization. They feel so civilized when they look down on the Palestinians, which are the troublemakers from their point of view. Most people don't commit evil acts because they feel like doing something evil, they commit evil acts because they have reshaped their narrative to a perspective from which their actions look right and good. And the reason the world time after time again allows such atrocities to be committed are not the few obvious psychopaths who openly call for genocide, the reason are the many people who feel so peaceful sitting in their offices and living rooms because its not them who pulls the trigger. They feel civilized because all they did was voting or in the case of politicians signing some authorizations for state agencies, but with their votes and signatures they transferred power to those that steer the world into the abyss. The biggest risk are not those who are loud and violent but those who give a civilized legitimacy to egregious crimes. It's the responsibility of every single citizen in the world to inform himself and question what is right and what is wrong. Don't accept everything that you are told as the absolute truth, make your own assessments. Your intent does not determine the righteousness of your actions. If you hurt other people with your behaviour it doesn't matter if you acted with good intentions. A lot of harm is done by ignorance rather than sadism. If you ignore the evidence for this genocide and still support the perpetrators and enablers you are causing harm. It doesn't matter if you didn't have sadistic thoughts.
⚠️ The Israeli occupation’s war on children in Gaza marks its 136th day.

Bearing Up, Bearing Witness Israel's genocide of Palestinians is far from the only one happening right now. The RPF in Sudan is indiscriminately targeting civilians and infrastructure, including hospitals. The Rohingya are being cornered, starved, and slaughtered in Myanmar. Also, up to 90% of that nation is now controlled by resistance to the military junta. Ethiopia continues its communal wars against several peoples in that very diversely populated land, now the war with Tigray has been replaced by a tense, uneasy peace. Rwanda's Kagame continues to sponsor and lowkey engage in a war on the peoples of eastern DRC (Congo-Kinshasa). Added to all the above is the violent, often lethal suppression of peoples in Tibet (by China), West Papua (Indonesia), Western Sahara (Morocco)… I could go on, but the list is long and I'm sure you get the picture; but what's my point? Simply this: I know how painful and exhausting the news is. But imagine how it is for people living through these traumas. Please, take time out and allow yourself grace every so often. But then, please bear witness. Just the simple act of doing so makes a difference. #NoneOfUsAreFreeUntilAllOfUsAreFree
