A new trade policy paper released by the OECD dwells into the evolving landscape of government subsidies for solar modules and wind turbines from 2005 to 2023. The findings show significant shifts in support patterns, as OECD countries step up subsidies in recent years to counter China’s dominance in the renewable energy sector. #RenewableEnergySubsidies

🔢Tangible Numbers on #Solar: The Ultimate Eco-Helper 🌍 Recent data from the International Energy Agency (IEA) in their #EnergyTechnologyPerspectives2024 (ETP-24) report reveals solar’s extraordinary potential: a single container ship loaded with solar panels can generate as much power over its lifetime as more than 50 LNG tankers or 100 bulk carriers transporting coal. These numbers redefine long-term, sustainable energy—unlike fossil fuels that drive one-time consumption, solar panels deliver reliable power for decades, cementing solar’s position as a cornerstone of the energy transition. For DAS SOLAR Australia, this isn’t just an impressive statistic—it’s a call to action. As renewables grow, DAS SOLAR is advancing #PV solutions that not only deliver exceptional efficiency but also actively support Australia’s commitment to reducing fossil fuel reliance and preserving natural landscapes. Our advanced #Ntype and #dualglass modules are purpose-built for Australia’s diverse climates and geographies, ensuring high-performance and sustainable energy across all environments. As PV technology evolves, DAS SOLAR is committed to driving a cleaner, greener future. Our vision is to see these panels powering Australian homes, businesses, and communities, cutting emissions and strengthening Australia’s renewable landscape. Every panel we install adds resilience to Australia’s energy independence, securing a future where solar is essential. •A hybrid Power Purchase Agreement framework for decarbonization was proposed. •Modified mean-variance theory identified uncertainties in low-carbon transitions. •Kitakyushu can achieve net-zero emissions by 2038. •Green hydrogen is expected to become the primary form of energy storage. •Achieving energy self-sufficiency with renewables alone by 2045 is challenging.

"Today's publication reinforces that a business-as-usual approach (to LNG exports) is neither sustainable nor advisable." The Energy Department just released a long-awaited study on the environmental and economic impacts of natural gas exports. It found that U.S. LNG shipments drive up domestic wholesale prices and frequently displace renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Unfettered LNG exports would cost us, harming our health and our planet. The future depends on clean energy solutions, not development that locks us into harmful fossil fuels. #ClimateChange #Health #DepartmentOfEnergy #EnergyDepartment #FossilFuels #LNG #Gas #Equity #CleanEnergy #ClimateIsHealth

𝗔 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 In recent years, Britain’s energy intensive industries (EIIs) have faced the steepest industrial electricity prices in Europe. The net zero transition and the rising price of carbon presents another challenge, particularly when competing in a global market. Because the UK government wants EII business to remain competitive, it is offering various forms of support, with some coming into play as recently as April 2024. We’ve outlined the support in this guide – with a handy “jump to” menu for quick access to the info you need. https://lnkd.in/eAjhSesD #EnergyIntensiveIndustries #GovernmentSupportGuide

'UK and European companies are calling for a 'green energy hub' in the North Sea in response to the post-Brexit energy trading arrangements. In a letter, 20 green energy businesses stated that the existing system, which is part of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA), is ineffective and hinders investment in renewable energy projects. Optimising key areas such as the North Sea for EU-UK relations is critical to maintaining a strong relationship, however, suboptimal market mechanisms are limiting trade efficiency. Sir Keir Starmer will visit Brussels this month to meet European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen to formally signal the start of a new UK-EU rapprochement. Industry experts said the current trading system was highly inefficient and reflected the bloc’s previous concerns that the UK should not be allowed to cherry-pick access to the EU single market. However, there is an emphasis that both sides are looking to find a 'mutually beneficial' arrangement and a 'new phase' of UK-EU trade relations focusing on a pragmatic approach. There is a proposal to adopt the EU’s price-coupling system to simplify UK-EU trade, especially with a focus on energy, without reopening the TCA. Companies urge both governments to act quickly to support clean energy projects that are vital to achieving net-zero goals. How successful will these projects be and how long will they take to be implemented? Read more below: https://lnkd.in/gtxHak8i
