👉🏾To overcome the ‘climate crisis,’ it’s necessary to ADDRESS ITS ROOT CAUSES! Above all, it requires challenging the HEGEMONIC NARRATIVE that seeks to impose it on the entire world from an unjust, racist, colonial, and Eurocentric perspective, framing it SOLELY as a climate crisis. 🎥 Excerpt from the ‘Decolonial Resistance’ conference, presented by Contre-Attaque & Autonomie as part of the STOP PILLAGE Commodities Trading Counter Summit. 📍Lausanne 2024

About time the Global South starts putting sanctions on countries emitting more than the avg per capita emissions and eating up the entire planet’s carbon budgets. It seems that climate conflict is unavoidable now, it may happen 20 years down the line in the name of immigrant crisis, water and food wars or even access to energy resources. Better to get ahead of the curve and take pre-emptive action now. I do not put it beyond the white thugs of America and EU to bomb the life out of Global South with biological weapons to take away our food and water if they begin to starve. Climate change is an issue of national security and serious deterrents are required to be placed ASAP period.

Geopolitical: One of the concerns’Climate Change’ Climate risk is a critical global issue with profound geopolitical implications. The impacts of climate change, ranging from extreme weather events to water scarcity, are already transforming our world. This year, it emerges as a major geopolitical risk. The escalating occurrences of severe weather events such as hurricanes and droughts are causing infrastructure damage and disrupting supply chains worldwide. Water scarcity in areas like South America and sub-Saharan Africa is not only heightening geopolitical tensions but also affecting agriculture and manufacturing sectors, leading to economic instability. Geopolitical cooperation plays a crucial role in tackling climate change. However, the reluctance of fossil fuel-dependent nations to transition to renewable energy could escalate geopolitical tensions concerning energy security.
