Team bonding sessions or extra time off won't necessarily engage our team. Those only get you temporary buy-in because they miss a deeper problem - Meaning. Purpose. But it's a different story if we help them uncover their "why": Last month, I encouraged my team to take a break and recharge. We had a busy few months training in schools and corporate space, and I saw the need to create space for rest. But one of my team members, when asked, told me they didn't feel like they could take leave because there were still things left to do. As a leader, I created an opportunity for rest. But it wasn't meaningful. Then, during a corporate workshop we ran, this team member saw a participant from her group make a complete turnaround by the end of the session. Coming out of the workshop, this team member looked recharged. They told me they felt a renewed sense of purpose after seeing the direct impact of their involvement. Amazing right? Purposeful engagement isn’t just more bonding events or extra time off. People need to see the "why" behind their tasks and the difference they make. Even better, realize the "why" behind joining the company in the first place. That’s the key to true engagement - knowing that you're part of something bigger.

BONDING DAY, WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Sun, sand, and smiles! ☀️🏖️ We had an incredible bonding day at the beach, strengthening our team spirit, connect on a personal level and build a sense of community. Team bonding is the process of fostering positive relationships and camaraderie among team members. It involves activities and experiences that help to build trust, cooperation, and a shared sense of purpose. Why is team bonding important? 1. Improved communication: When team members feel connected and comfortable with each other, they are more likely to communicate openly and honestly. 2. Increased productivity: A strong team bond can lead to higher levels of productivity and efficiency, as team members are more motivated to work together towards a common goal. 3. Enhanced problem-solving: When team members trust and respect each other, they are better able to work together to solve problems and overcome challenges. 4. Greater job satisfaction: Employees who feel part of a strong and supportive team are often more satisfied with their jobs and more likely to stay with the company. 5. Positive company culture: Team bonding can help to create a positive and supportive company culture that attracts and retains top talent. #teambuilding #bondingday #beachday #teamwork #selfdevelopment #community #insuranceindustry

“Recently, I had the joy of spending a fantastic evening with my incredible team!” Our team dinner wasn’t just about enjoying great food and drinks; it was an opportunity to reflect on our recent successes, share some laughs, and strengthen the bonds that make our team so special. It was great to step away from our usual routine and to engage with each other. I would like to highlight some of the key advantages of team outings Improving Communication: Away from the usual work setting, team outings encourage open and informal communication, which can enhance collaboration and reduce misunderstandings. Boosting Morale: Taking time to celebrate achievements and enjoy each other's company can significantly boost team morale and overall job satisfaction. Encouraging Team Spirit: Shared experiences outside of work help build a sense of unity and team spirit, making collaboration more seamless back at the office. Building Trust: Engaging in non-work-related activities helps build trust among team members, which is crucial for effective teamwork and problem-solving. Team Clincher hit up Luna Park! 🎢 Last week, our team had an absolute blast during a morning outing to Luna Park! 🎡 It was the perfect way to get outside, connect, and have fun before returning to the office for our wider team CSO offsite in the afternoon. Here are a few reasons why team-building activities like these are so beneficial: 1️⃣ Strengthening Connections: Spending time together in a relaxed environment helps build stronger relationships. According to a Gallup study, employees with a friend at work are seven times more likely to be engaged in their jobs. I’m lucky to say I have MANY friends at LinkedIn. 2️⃣ Boosting Morale: Fun activities outside the usual work routine can significantly boost team morale. 3️⃣Enhancing Communication: Team building activities improve communication skills and foster open dialogue. What team-building activity have you and your team have done recently? (We missed you Benny!)
