📈The annual Key Trends 2023/2024 report on European cinema, television and VOD by the European Audiovisual Observatory | Observatoire européen de l'audiovisuel is published. ℹThe European Audiovisual Observatory was set up in Strasbourg in 1992 to reply to a distinct lack of information and transparency concerning this industry. New report of the European Audiovisual Observatory | Observatoire européen de l'audiovisuel on the analysis of works #broadcast on European #TV channels. One of the findings: the number of European #films broadcast on TV grew between 2018 and 2022, chiefly driven by non-national European films. In other words, a better #circulation of European films contributed to an overall increase of the number of European films available. Full report here: https://lnkd.in/etaHSuHi

How to Choose the Right Audio Solutions for Your TV, Media Room, and Home Cinema In this video, I interview Owen Maddock, the founder of Cinemaworks in Bristol, UK, and discuss his background in home cinema and home theater design and technology consultation. Owen emphasizes the importance of understanding individual client preferences and creating experiential home cinemas that evoke emotions through sound and picture. He recommends exploring soundbars or speaker systems and trying them out for those looking for an upgrade from their TV's built-in audio. We also discuss the challenges and considerations when designing audio solutions for different room sizes and the importance of proper education and qualification in the industry. https://difm.us/lihtowen

The upcoming release of the blockbuster film Twisters (centred around a social-media celebrity storm-chaser) – a sequel to 1996’s Twister – demonstrates an ongoing public fascination in hazards and, more specifically, footage of extreme weather. The arrival of camera and streaming technologies have made it easier to collect and share such footage in recent years, resulting in often dramatic footage being live-streamed on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Discord. Now, a new study conducted at the University has for the first time analysed what might be motivating people to watch these streams – in some instances for up to 12 hours at a time. https://lnkd.in/eqWVZn34
