One-third of employees decide whether to stay or go in the first 90 days of their new role. The article gives some good tips. My main ones are to get them involved straight from day 1, encourage participation, and give them time to settle in. This creates trust and confidence, which is what's needed when you join a new company.

🤨Orientation? Integration? Positive Enablment? HBR lists five key cultural areas often under-appreciated or ignored by new hires, their attention to which can greatly benefit them and their sucess at their new employer. And I agree with these 5. But why leave it up to new hires to figure it out? As leaders and HR teams, the ROI in developing and skillfully executing an intentional onboarding program that exposes/teaches/trains new hires across the key 5 has been clearly demonstrated for a decade or two. 5 questions for recent hires to provide important insights about your company culture. Spending some time with new hires about a month into their new role is a good way to gauge the strength of your company culture and see if there are opportunities to improve your onboarding process. This can be particularly valuable when the new hire is in a role that you as a leader might not interact with on a regular basis. Use the opportunity to be curious and learn from someone with a fresh set of eyes. ①. What company initiatives are you most excited to be joining? ②. What was the most interesting part of your onboarding experience? ③. What aspect of our company culture has been most evident to you in day-to-day work?  ④. Has anything surprised you about the way we work? ⑤. As we look to hire new team members, what types of people will be most successful here? Keep an open mind because if you don’t love what you hear, it likely says more about your culture than it does your new hire.
