I spend most weeks talking to visionary HR leaders. But rarely do I get the opportunity to bring these luminaries together under one roof—which is exactly what made Gloat Live so special. After spending 2.5 days with our customers, prospects, and industry leaders, I came away with 3 key takeaways: 1. Even amidst a challenging economy, incredible innovation and change are happening in leading organizations. Those who aren’t changing are getting left behind. We heard incredible stories of upskilling accelerators, cross-functional agile teams, and efficient planning to build the technical skills of the future— all with processes and systems that would never have existed even a few years ago. This is the future of work. 2. Skills are the essential currency for today’s careers. Gen Z and young workers view their careers differently, often having multiple careers concurrently with side hustles and gigs. Finding a way to tap into their myriad of skills is essential. There is more than enough work to be done and your talent is capable of doing it or learning it. 3. HR teams need to move beyond HR terms and measurements. Their impact is on the bottom line of the business. Efficient talent operating models drive business growth. Every speaker at Gloat Live mentioned their CFO or a business partner—and many business leaders joined us themselves to share how new talent models are helping them achieve results.
