In India, companies across sectors such as manufacturing, retail, IT, construction, and more are increasingly expected to obtain these certifications. Here are 3/14 key green certificates for companies operating in India: 1. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification Description: LEED is a globally recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). I think subsidies have been crucial in promoting green buildings so far, but as the market matures, maybe we need a more tailored approach. What if we focused subsidies on small and medium developers? They often face financial and technical barriers to adopting green building standards. Offering them targeted incentives—like discounted certification fees or access to green financing—could make sustainability more accessible and equitable. For the bigger players, who have more resources, making green standards mandatory could push the industry forward without needing additional subsidies. It feels like a balanced way to support those who need it while ensuring the larger players lead by example. I feel differentiating policies this way would optimize resource allocation, and drive faster adoption of sustainability in construction. What are your thoughts?
