County of Simcoe tapped CIMA+ to transform the intersection at County Roads 21 and 56 into a roundabout — improving safety, sightlines and traffic flow. The project team tackled complex site conditions with innovation solutions, including: 🌱 zero-excess-soil approach – all materials reused on-site 💧 stormwater management – recharging groundwater and protecting local waterways 🚧 minimal disruption to the community – roads remained open throughout construction Read more about what makes roundabouts an important part of the roadway landscape: https://lnkd.in/g_ZNeUqT #EngineeringForPeople #Infrastructure #RoadSafety #SustainableDesign

Maintenance Made Easy: Maintaining stormwater infrastructure can be costly and time-consuming, but The SNOUT® is designed to simplify the process. Its easy-access design means that maintenance crews can quickly clean and inspect the unit, saving time and resources. This efficiency helps municipalities maintain effective stormwater management with fewer disruptions and lower costs. When it comes to infrastructure, The SNOUT is a smart choice for both performance and practicality. #stormwater #trashcapture #bmphood #civilengineering #bestmanagementproducts

Project Highlight: Critical Stormwater Line Rehabilitation with Minimal Community Impact Hinterland Group successfully rehabilitated five 72-inch stormwater conveyance lines in a residential area bordering a canal. While traditional open-cut methods would have blocked the only access road for residents for several weeks, our trenchless lining approach allowed us to complete the work with minimal traffic disruption to the community. This project demonstrates Hinterland Group's commitment to using innovative solutions that maintain essential infrastructure while prioritizing resident accessibility. #savingoursewers #protectingourwaters

When reconstructing a road goes beyond the surface... 😉 Our technical team working behind the scenes on another road reconstruction project we were recently awarded with a local municipality. Finding a local partner that understands the demands, the deadlines, the budgets... It's everything. This project will involve the urbanization of a section of road, including replacement of existing storm, sanitary and water servicing infrastructure. #RoadReconstruction #MunicipalDesign #CivilEngineereing #EngageEngineering #CommunityDesign

A few weeks ago we released a blog about our ongoing Livingston Pond E MAGNA Stormpark™ project. It's really great to see a positive response to this project! For those of you who haven't had a chance to read it yet, here are some highlights: - The Livingston Pond E MAGNA Stormpark™️ project is a beautifully designed and highly functional stormwater management system in Northwest Calgary encompassing 500 ha of serviced development area. - This MAGNA Stormpark™ is designed to replace the existing wetland area with a green infrastructure solution to manage the community's stormwater. - MAGNA worked closely with the client to ensure the community's needs were met, one of which is preserving the community's character by prioritizing urban green space. What a great approach to help with the preservation of a historical road.
The city of Pittsburgh is transforming its aging streets with innovative green infrastructure. In the Dellrose Street project, permeable pavers and the SATURO Infiltrometer helped reduce the need for traditional stormwater systems like pipes and catch basins. Stormwater engineer Jason Borne from ms consultants explains how the SATURO Infiltrometer enabled rapid and precise testing of subsoils, leading to an optimized design that preserves the neighborhood's charm while effectively managing runoff. Learn how this solution could serve as a model for future city projects. Read the story: https://lnkd.in/gesjP96M #water #soil #watermonitoring #innovation

No-build solutions are ways to solve infrastructure needs without building new assets, such as bridges, roads or buildings. One way of achieving this is by repurposing infrastructure. For example, in Manchester the Castlefield Viaduct sky park provides locals with a place to connect with nature and get together. Originally, Castlefield Viaduct used to carry heavy rail traffic in and out of the city, but it has been out of use since 1969. Repurposing it has served the local communities, without building new assets. Click here to read more: https://bit.ly/3KumGFt #RepurposingInfrastructure #SustainableDesign #CommunitySpaces

"Elevating Communities: FOXXSTEM's Alley Transformations" FOXXSTEM provided Construction Inspection and Project Scoping Services for the Citywide Alleyway Restoration Construction Management Services Project in partnership with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and EXP. Did you know alleys are more than just shortcuts? For District residents, they are important community assets. Alleys are places for gatherings, resident parking, and so much more. Here's how alleyway restorations make a difference: 🌧️ Improves drainage that diverts stormwater away from buildings and homes. 🛑 Enhances pedestrian safety through pavement rehabilitation ~ Melissa McGarry
