Justice reinvestment diversionary programs like this have been consistently proven in all the research studies, both local and international, to be far superior in decreasing recidivism rates than traditional incarceration/punishment routes and, as if that alone wasn't enough of a great reason, costs the State orders of magnitude less to implement compared to incarceration with the benefits flowing back into the local economy and community versus into the corporate coffers of the huge multinational "big prison" contractors like Serco/G4S et al. And then, of course, there's the compounding benefit of connecting indigenous youth back to country and cultural wisdom. It's win/win all-round. We need to be diverting funding to building communities, not prisons. Great work on this awesome initiative, keep grinding!

Doctor. Lawyer. Firefighter. Police Officer. Teacher. These are professions often thought of by children when picturing a job that has an impact in the lives of others. Very few, I'd venture, consider "Recruiter." As recruiters, yes, we help companies (our clients) hire employees. But the other side of that is, we help people find jobs. In so doing, we help people establish and grow their career; which is a pretty big deal. Through helping someone advance in their career, we're able to positively affect not only them, but also, for many, their family. We get to make a positive difference in where and how they live, enable them to save and put their kids through college, travel and experience the world, as well as volunteer and donate to causes that are important to them. We may not save their life like a doctor, defend their rights like a lawyer, or rescue them like a firefighter or police officer, but I would argue our impact can be just as profound. What else?
