Kids with eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE) enjoy the phenomenon of virtual reality goggles during transnasal endoscopy (TNE), a new alternative to traditional esophagoscopies. Mayo Clinic Children's Center is one of just a few pediatric centers offering TNE, which is performed via the nasal passage while the patient is awake. It eliminates the need for kids to undergo prolonged fasting, sedation and an IV needle. The only downside, according to our patients?
