Understanding NJ’s eviction protections is crucial. Under the Anti-Eviction Act, tenants cannot be evicted without just cause. Recent updates reinforce protections for low-income renters, ensuring landlords meet strict compliance standards. Are you aware of your rights as a tenant or responsibilities as a landlord? So how radical will the reform be for rural communities?
The Government is next week expected to announce the details of its planning reform. At District Councils' Network we're very pro-development. District councils are anxious to ensure there's homes for everyone in our community - homes that they can afford. "We want to work in partnership with the Government to unblock the barriers to development," says our Chairman, Samuel Chapman-Allen. You can read more of what we believe here 👇

Why I’m running for San Jacinto City Council Communities cannot thrive without the active involvement of their members. When individuals unite around a common goal, they can overcome challenges, create impact, and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable world. This cooperative effort is especially crucial for residents and municipal officials, particularly city council members, whose actions significantly affect the community's prosperity. Open and honest communication between elected leaders and the public is not only important but also the cornerstone of a functioning community. The ability to engage in dialogue with citizens, seek their input on crucial matters, and understand their needs and interests enables leaders to make informed decisions that benefit the community. The issue at hand is the tendency of city council members to delay responses to citizens’ queries or to address problems at the eleventh hour. This impatience undermines the government and the rule of law and leaves citizens feeling unheard and disengaged. City council members should take the following steps to help create a more engaged, responsive city: Regular town hall meetings allow citizens to raise concerns and question elected officials. City council members should do their best to respond to all questions immediately, even if they cannot answer them immediately. Public servants must openly disclose how they make decisions and be accountable to the people. If city council members and their residents work in collaboration and prioritize the needs of all citizens, a healthier, fairer, and more sustainable future for everyone can be built. #GoSanjacinto #sanjacinto #sanjacintoca #mtsanjacintocollege #community #CityCouncilCandidate #CityCouncilMeeting #CityCouncil2024 Sincerely, Eric Anthony Devezin www.vote4devezin.com

Exciting times as we dive into Municipal Strategic Planning with one of our East Coast clients! Public engagement is crucial in this process, as it allows Council to be attuned to the needs of the community. We have already seen common areas of focus between the public and Council, showing that Council is actively listening and responding to the input of their constituents. In-person engagement sessions are scheduled for this Friday, where residents can voice their opinions and priorities. Following the public engagement sessions, Council will hold their strategic planning session on Saturday. From there, we will work closely with administration to develop a tactical work plan that aligns with Council's priorities and goals. It's great to see such cohesive efforts towards building a stronger, more connected community. #PublicEngagement #CommunityFocused #StrategicPlanning #CouncilPriorities #FeedbackFriday Let's continue to work together towards a prosperous future for our municipalities! #MunicipalPlanning #LocalGovernment #EngagedCommunity #CommunityDevelopment
