Last week, Ciocca Subaru of Allentown had the amazing opportunity to attend Camp Smile, a heartwarming one-week camp for children battling cancer, organized by PCFLV: The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley and supported by Ciocca Subaru's 2023 Share the Love initiative. 🌈 At this completely free camp, the kids enjoyed a morning filled with fun activities like arts & crafts, sports and theater. After a delicious lunch, they were delighted by special guests—therapy dogs! 🐶 The day wrapped up with a refreshing afternoon of swimming before their parents picked them up. Seeing the smiles on these brave kids' faces was truly inspiring. Thank you PCFLV for the invitation and to everyone who makes Camp Smile possible! 💖 #CampSmile #PCFLV #ShareTheLove #CioccaSubaru #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #cioccaonsocial

PLEASE WATCH THIS!! We need our army of Sophie's Legacy supporters to help us put pressure on the new government to 'un-pause' the Childhood Cancer Taskforce. We are feeling a bit broken and deflated by the shocking news that they are pausing the taskforce BUT we won't stop FIGHTING!! If we don't fight and advocate for our children, who will? Our children deserve so much more than this. Please go to our website to get the template letter https://lnkd.in/ede6TiFb #sophieslegacy #creatingchange #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth

A study in 2014 found that the average cost associated with childhood cancer is a startling $833,000. Ninety percent of The National Children's Cancer Society (NCCS) families surveyed said they experienced an increase in expenses as a direct result of a child’s diagnosis. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of studies that look into the financial constraints of families facing this diagnosis. Using the American Institute for Economic Research calculator, $833,000 in 2014 is approximate $1,030,000 in today’s dollars! We have to do better for our families facing this already difficult road. That’s why we are grateful for organizations like Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation that are centering their work on minimizing the financial burden placed on families, while organizations like Tackle Kids Cancer are working to find a cure. Head to their pages to learn more about their work or check out this weeks episode of “Six Degrees with #KevinBacon” with #EliManning and #CoachTomCoughlin #pediatriccancer #sixdegreespod

Strategist. Change Agent. Helping businesses and communities strategically, intentionally & responsibly incorporate game changing technology, including AI, into the human experience.
Congrats to Team Ebinger for winning a Gold Banner & Student Choice Award! They will be representing Chicago and the Students In Action Youth Summit in September. Reflecting on local students who had lost their battles within the past few years, Team Ebinger felt that supporting pediatric cancer patients would be a way to further support our community as well. Their goals: Bring joy to children who are battling cancer: Team Ebinger collected over 500 items and assembled over 50 gift bags that included items of comfort and need such as blankets, stuffed animals, coloring materials, activity books, personal care items, hats, headscarves, fidgets and small toys. These gift bags were delivered to Advocate Children's hospital and a higher need hospital downtown Chicago. Spread awareness to our school and community about the importance of supporting this cause: Team Ebinger also planned and hosted a pediatric cancer awareness week in which the entire school participated. Each day of the week highlighted a different organization that raises money for cancer awareness. Team members also educated each classroom about the gift item collection and the importance of supporting children who are suffering and included information in our school wide newsletters and social media pages. This team of 24 students, engaged with over 100 volunteers to impact numerous students, school administrators, cancer patients and neighbors. "Although spreading awareness and informing others is really helpful the fact that we were able to actually collect stuff and distribute to people really made a difference, which is really special." #sia4good #MultiplyingGood #StudentsInAction #NoGiveUpInUs #MollyStrong #PediatricCancerAwareness Multiplying Good

Help us #gograyinmay for children affected by brain cancer or tumors 🎗️ WithLove receives requests for care packages benefiting children with DIPG at least 4 times a year. Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas are very aggressive brain tumors found at the base of the brain. They are comprised of the brain’s glial tissue which is made up of cells that help support and protect the brain’s neurons. Due to their location on the brain, these tumors are inoperable, as the pons area is what keeps us alive - it controls breathing, heart rate, swallowing, eyesight, balance, motor skills and consciousness. Essentially this cancer takes over their bodily functions as the tumor grows, but leaves the child mentally aware. We share all of this because it is the harsh truth. Brain tumors are the leading cause of death to children under the age of 10. We must fight more for our courageous kids and raise awareness in unison with our mission to give hope. WithLove not only wants to send comforting care packages or deliver joy during our Golden Heroes’ journeys, but we want to ensure we are uplifting the families and being a voice for their children as well. We hope you’ll join us ✨ Sponsor a Golden Hero Box ($100) today: 🩶 withlovecharity.org/donate 🩶 venmo @withlovecharity #braincancerawareness #braintumorawareness

The Faris Foundation treats every dollar as if it comes from a child's piggy bank. Because our operating expenses are generously subsidized, we are able to maximize the impact of every dollar we receive by putting it towards our programs, not overhead. We are so grateful to our community of supporters for investing with us, and in our 2023 Impact Report, you can see just how transformative this approach has been in bringing brighter days and better treatments to children with cancer: https://lnkd.in/gfjV3rw3
