Just finished a cover design inspired by a scientific article by Jens Beckmann's group on the creation of a stable nitrene compound! This group from the University of Bremen presents an exciting advance in the field of chemistry, where traditionally unstable nitrenes have been made stable enough for in-depth study. Here's a recap of the article: ⏣ Kinetic stabilization to produce a stable nitrene with a triplet ground state, allowing detailed analysis. ⏣ Unique magnetic properties due to its three unpaired electrons, opening new possibilities for various applications. ⏣ Potential new pathways in synthetic chemistry and catalysis. If you want to understand more about the stability and properties of these fascinating molecules, this article is well worth reading. It has implications for anyone interested in advanced chemical research and applications! Co-Authors: Marvin Janssen, Thomas Frederichs, Marian Olaru, Dr. Enno Lork, Emanuel Hupf #sciart ⌬ #research ⌬ #chemistry

One step further on the road to PhD! Today I've presented my final seminar to my colleagues from the Grand Technion Energy Program (GTEP) and The Schulich Faculty Of Chemistry in the Technion International. In the seminar, titled "Earth-Abundant Electrocatalysts for the Nitrogen Cycle', I presented an overview of some of my PhD projects: 1.Connecting nickel hydroxide phases and disorder with it's electrocatalytic activity for both urea and ammonia oxidation catalysis. 2. The development of iron and nitrogen doped carbon catalysts, that are as active as platinum for direct hydrazine fuel cells. I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues who attended the lecture, showed interest in my research, and asked insightful questions. And now, to the last part: writing!

Faculty Member @ São Carlos Institute of Chemistry, of University of São Paulo | QTNano Group | Center of Innovation on New Energies | ⚛️ Computational Materials Science, Physics, and Chemistry | Researcher CNPq 1A ...
#QTNano: Exploring CH4 Interaction with Transition Metals The interaction between methane (CH4) and transition-metal surfaces stands as a critical area of study in catalysis. This interaction initiates with the adsorption of methane molecules onto the surface of transition-metal catalysts, followed by activation, where the metal-surface interaction induces structural and electronic changes in the methane molecule. The activation process can be facilitated by the presence of defects, steps, or specific surface sites on the transition-metal surface, which serve as active sites for catalytic processes. Here, we address this problem using density functional theory calculations, which can be considered as one of the standard methodologies to perform quantum-chemistry description of molecular systems. This study was performed by one of our previous scientific initiation students (undergraduate student), Eduardo Orlando Bartaquim, who was a member of the QTNano group along part of his undergraduate bachelor degree in chemistry at the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry. https://lnkd.in/dAifTrsE

I am delighted to share our recently published research article entitled "Constructing B─N─P Bonds in Ultrathin Holey g-C3N4 for Regulating the Local Chemical Environment in Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction to CO". The designed P–N–B triad was found to promote exciton dissociation, lower the activation barrier for reduction of CO2 by stabilizing the *COOH reaction intermediate, and altering the rate-determining step. Many thanks to all the coauthors for their great efforts and support. If you are interested, here is the paper link 👇 https://lnkd.in/gKUCcHRa
